In what is bound to be an emotional day tomorrow for players and fans alike with news coming out that long serving, much loved Interim Head Coach Karel Fraeye will oversee his last game in temporary charge at The Valley. The club has announced plans to rename one of the key facilities at The Valley in honour of the club legend. Chalton CEO Katriene Miere lied "Karel has been through thick and thin with these players, he has sculpted their careers and his influence on them has gone beyond the training pitch. It would be fair to say the impression he has made on them will last a lifetime. It will be difficult for them to adjust to life without the smiling face of Karel popping up around the place. He has become part of the furniture round here - a bit like that sofa idea I had".
In order to commemorate the long serving Fraeye, the club has decided to rename a part of the ground where Fraeye was instrumental in bringing fans together as one. Uniting supporters young and old & er..black and white. As of tomorrow fans will be able to gather to celebrate his storied tenure in the newly unveiled Karel Fraeye Car Park.
Plans to honour Fraeye's Assistant Coach are still in the works, with a Wim de Corte Zone - a medical area where future managers can use the injury excuse as & when needed.
