  • How do you know his legs have actually gone? What does that even mean? Where have they gone? Does he not train then if his legs have 'gone'? How does he go about his daily life legless?

Nobody questions his desire or commitment but too many games last season he was chasing shadows from games he started in CM which also meant playing Cousins out on the left. (see the come in no.4 thread or many of the match ratings / post match comments)

The trouble is CM is the one position you can't afford to be chasing shadows you need the stamina to win tackles much in the way Kashi does.

However we have a Bulot size hole in LM I do think JJ can fill in the short term or even stick him up front if coming off the bench

We have a lot of players who can run around but are useless in front of goal, I think we should try and accommodate a player who can barely run but is very effective in front of goal, perhaps we should club together and buy him a Segway.
  • Mr And Mrs Davo55 Senior would like to announce the engagement of their son Davo55 to Lord Sir Johnnie Jackson of SE7, all round top geezer, inspirational skipper and addicts legend. We look forward to the biologicallly unlikely arrival of whole team of Kermogants little Jackos in due course.
  • JJ was Man of the Match in the lounges.

My left leg went to sleep during the game which is annoying because I know now it'll be up all night having fun when the rest of me is trying to sleep.

JJ lost his pace when he was 18 so i don't get that argument either.

  • As Kit Symons said

"Defining moments in games: the crowd were singing for Johnnie Jackson to come on about 15 minutes earlier. He suddenly came on, made an impact, gave them a big lift. They took advantage of that and we shot ourselves in the foot."
How did the stewards allow them to bring a gun into the stadium?
  • I've long said that Jackson's best position nowadays is basically as alternating striker/midfielder. No pace but links play and gets onto crosses. Allows Watt to do what he does at desperate times and drop into midfield to run the game.
  • Been going since the 70's

Just wish JJ had had better players around him while at The Valley - legend
  • Jacko has the happy habit of inspiring the team to better things. We are not , despite early promise, blessed with much character or leadership in this squad and therefore his presence is essential . Sadly, he's picking up more and more injuries
  • We need JJ at the moment. Simple. He knows the Championship. He knows how to motivate and how to get things done. The whole team is crying out for his leadership and level headedness at this moment in time. Hopefully GL gets it.

I thought he was man of the match on the pitch!
  • Get in number 4!

Johnnie Jackson, next Charlton manager please Roland, inspirational!

Don't be silly, he's something the fans would want, ergo there's no chance of it happening.

  • He definitely needs to start in my opinion, "IF??" he tires then bring him off for "fresh legs". He will always score the odd goal and important goals at that. What would be wrong with playing him with JC in the middle anyway? his experience is invaluable. Obviously he should only play if he is 100% fit, lets be fair we have lost the last 4 games so its not that the "current" midfield have been exactly "bossing" it recently...............Anyway GET IN JOHNNIE, and THANK YOU!!

    COYR...................

Did we take advantage of the lift or did they shoot themselves in the foot? Those statements contradict a bit
  • You don't score 48 goals from midfield through luck, he instinctively knows where to go in the box, which is a crucial skill.

A few weeks ago, in one game when we were lumping the ball forward to Big Mak, I was crying out for Jacko to be brought on from the bench, as he's the sort of player who will ghost into the right positions and pick up the rebounds and knock downs.

Absolute rubbish. There's no way as far away as the away dugout would have heard us singing today!!

You sure boss, I heard you near the away end and several pins drop given the paucity of the crowd
  • For everyone saying Jackson needs to start I'd be interested to know who you think he should replace out of Kashi or Cousins?

I personally prefer him to Cousins, but we all know that won't be happening.
  • How about…

    Goalie

    Solly - Diarra - Bauer - Fox/Bergdich

    ********Cousins - Ba/Kashi

    ************Jackson

    JBG - - - - - Watt - - - - - Moussa

It'd work nicely until Jackson's legs gave out, and we could either bring a big man or a pacy striker on. Relies upon Moussa and JBG to get on the end of through-balls and crosses, mind - can they?
  • Love Jacko, proper Lundan bloke
