Cardiff's problems...

Quite interesting to see what's going on down there.
Loaning players out to save money and effectively giving up on this season

Jones reputed to be on £35-£40k a week.

Bournemouth pay that plus bonuses he would have earned at Cardiff.
And no doubt another bonus if he appears for Bournemouth and they're promoted/Wembley playoff finalists.

6 figure 'loan transfer' fee paid to Cardiff . How much? ........... anything between £100k up to £1m.

And another 6 figure fee paid to Cardiff if he appears for Bournemouth and they are promoted.

And he says he's playing to impress.
Evidently has an eye on being playing in the Prem again next season.

You can see Ernie Howe's thinking.

From a footballing perspective, Howe's trying to cover his bases.
If he loses strikers to injury or suspension, then he's just brought in extra insurance.

He wants promotion to the Prem - and he wants it this season.
They may never have a better chance.

And his Board want the Prem; therefore money is no object.

I understand what you are saying. But Bournemouth have actually complied with FFP rules.

Last season they got the benefit of the Lallana money and the sale of Grabban, this financial year Wilson has been their main signing, though with their small ground their income isn't very high, so their FFP performance this season could be interesting if they don't go up

The loan system needs to be reviewed and emergency needs to mean emergency. Look also at the loans Derby have brought in, who they would not be able to afford to buy. Clubs should be limited to s small number of loans they are allowed to bring in a season.

Nonsense like this is why we have a transfer window in the first place. It's bad enough teams leeching Prem reserves to bolster their squadsin February but allowing safe teams to affect the race up or down in their own league is nuts. We should send Tony Watt over to Derby if they pay us a million. Or send Bikey over to Bournemouth if Derby pay us a million

Well we did send Wilson to Rotherham to make sure they stay ahead of Millwall...

It is a bit weird though, what sort of message does it send out to Cardiff fans or indeed the teams that have to play Cardiff between now and end of the season (including Millwall)?

They have to go for it though, don't they. Cardiff may struggle next year - might be worth a bet.

No this is old news. Certainly not today.
I don't blame either club. There's no point Cardiff shelling out £30K per week for 13 weeks, when they are going nowhere. it saves them £400K minimum (more if a loan fee as well).
Re Bournemouth, it's money well spent if it gets them automatic promotion.

If your a championship team you can't be paying a premiership wage (QPR are doing a good job thou !)
Bolton have just announced they are in debt to 172.9 million.
Why wouldn't you have a relegation clause in players wages ?

I would, but the reason is that some players will refuse to sign it.
