My last memory of going to Ewood park was our famous away win in the Fa cup against the then Premier League champions, I sure as heck don't want to jeopardise that memory, safe travel to the brave hearts travelling up their at the weekend, I hope you get to see a treat.
100 mile round trip for me. And looking forward to the balmy weather on the other side of the Pennines. Those complaining about the cold should be more concerned about the sodding rain. As soon as you reach the M62 summit, deluge!!!
I expect quite a few are saving themselves for the cup replay...
You joke but I remember during our terrible run in our first Premiership year, I attended two games at Ewood Park in the space of a few weeks in the cup and league-needless to say we lost both to nil and it was freezing. And I travelled by coach to both so couldn't even drown my sorrows afterwards. There is a very fine line between loyalty and stupidity.......
I won't be there on Saturday but doff my cap to all those who make the trip....
We actually played well in the 1st of those games and should have won until that late pea-roller went straight through Sasa Illic legs. I remember standing on the platform at Blackburn station waiting for our delayed train to arrive and thinking to myself..........."What the f****** H*ll am I doing here?"
Hence to say I didn`t go up for the FA Cup game. That was the only game I missed that season.

Snap, awful games, went on the coach too with the junior reds, to make things worse they put us in the home end for both games. Remember Ilic having two of his worst games ever. First one the hapless Kevin Davis scored a pee roller from 20 yards that went through his legs. Then a few weeks later in the Fa cup we were 1-0 down and we had a corner on about the 85th minute and Ilic went up for it and they broke away and scored. Also went to operation ewood which was crap too.
Surely everyone remembers the memorable Bank Holiday Monday celebrations in April 2000 when the travelling thousands Charlton fans celebrated winning the Championship in style with one helluva party up at Ewood Park

Certainly do - Mr W managed to duck out of the way when Andy Hunt threw his boot into the crowd at then end, so the bloke behind us got it. I've still not forgiven him (Mr W, that is...)!

We have had a few memorable games at Blackburn in our recent history, definitely the FA Cup game, the Championship winning game on Easter Monday 2000, and in very different circumstances but still very enjoyable the 2-2 draw in April 1991 with the latest Leaburn header, double decker bus to the station after the game with the whole top deck chanting Leaburn. I also enjoyed the 2-1 win two seasons ago during snowy weather, empty motorways and a reward for the journey against the odds. There have also been more than enough miserable defeats too. Just a correction, the FA Cup win was February 1994, Blackburn didn't win the Premier league until the following season, but it was still a massive upset and one to be remembered
We also had an excellent 2.0 win up there in 91-92 when they were flying high and on their way to promotion. We were playing home games at Upton Park at that time and were having a good season and we had a very good away record. We tore them apart that day and should have scored 4 or 5. Robert Lee and Carl Leaburn got the goals. We had a good turn-out that day.

Not many know where Blackburn is..............turn it in!
Yes the 2-0 win in 91-92 was also superb, Kenny Dalglish first home defeat as Blackburn manager and a big upset as they had already started spending big money by that point
I'll be there with my sons and grandson. We've done well at Ewood in recent years and it would be nice to get another result there. Don't want a repeat of the deluge after the game last season though.
The 91/92 win up their was a legendary away day I've wrote about on here before that culminated in the bundling of Barry Fry at Watford Gap. Fair few of us got on the pitch for our first goal as well.
Planning to add to the numbers as it is one of those I can get to fairly easily from my Northern base. Two games in a row for me following my pre Christmas visit to London last weekend. Blackpool was my first live match since the 3-2 win against Derby. On Saturday I couldn't get over the inevitability of a Blackpool equaliser resulting from that free kick so close to the end of the match. Everyone around me had their head in their hands 100% sure of what was about to happen. And of course it did. So frustrating as we really do have the basis of a good team at the moment. Seeing the midfield running out of ideas and passing between themselves over and over until they lost the ball was pretty dire though.
Oh well hopefully things will work out better at Ewood Park.
Been to Blackburn way too many times. Was at the 2-0 in 91/92 and there for the Pitcher winner in the cup.
Also went to both 1-0 defeats which were virtually back to back. I'm sure we hired at big Merecedes people carrier for the first game and went on to Blackpool. Were driving down the M6 when the cup draw was made!.
Attended the Champions day and very nearly got a kicking on the way back to the station. Spraying champers around outside a pub full of them didn't go down too well!
Was also at the damp squib which was Operation Ewood.
Having started this thread in good faith, and looking forward to pre-match meet-up, I'm unfortunately now an injury doubt - got a sore and swollen knee which may not benefit from a seven hour round trip by car...Seeing the doc in morning, so hoping for a miracle cure...In the meantime will swallow a few more ibuprofen...

Sounds like it's the bench for you, Weegie.
Hoping for a miraculous recovery overnight though !
