There was an element of sarcasm there, just recall Lennie offering to send the bottle of Bells back once as it all went pear shaped every time he won it. Alternate between player and manager of the month and we may just be OK, it would be great recognition for the way he has set about things so far.

It often goes pear shaped after people win. It's not because there's a curse and they suddenly get worse, it's because they've had an exceptional good spell before winning. Winning will have no bearing on our future performance, not winning will be a wasted opportunity.
