Thoroughly well deserved. Chris and Sue are two of the nicest people you could meet and are fantastic supporters and ambassadors of our Club. I suspect Chris would have accepted it on behalf of both of them.
SO pleased for Chris (and Sue) - a genuine & modest front pairing indeed !
People like Chris rarely get a mention in "despatches" but his tireless work behind the scenes & his dedication to our Club deserve recognition of the highest order.
I always look to the Directors' Box at both home & away games, searching for their distinguished silver locks and they're always there . Do they ever have a break from Charlton ? Probably on rare occasions but I'm sure they would have it no other way.
Thanks should go to Katrien for her nomination. Another tick in the positive column....
Congratulations to both Sue and Chris. They have had some tough times more recently so I am pleased that they now have some positive news. Well done Katrien.
Was in the directors box earlier on in the season and sat near them both and you could see the delight in Sue when she realised there was someone else who was gonna sing and show a rare bit of passion in the directors area and not leave her on her own Nice nice people
Lovely to hear this about a great guy who has provided stout, reliable and steadfast service to us for so long. I found it hard to organise a single Sunday league team. Chris has to managed the logistics of lots of players, lots of games, lots of officials, lots of competitions with lots of rules and regulations, lots of travel, lots of hotels basically loads of everything. It is testament to the man that we have (for the most part I believe) not had points docked or much in the way of sanctions for messing things up. Irreplaceable knowledge, and if I were in charge I would already have an apprentice in place working alongside Chris, shadowing him, so that when the time eventually comes along the transition is seamless.
Thoroughly deserved for all his hard work and commitment, with unstinting support from Sue. An unsung hero, Chris also provides very important continuity for the club over a period of such change.
Unbelievable to think of what's happened in the past 25 switchback years, but there all the time in the background has been Chris. Such self-effacing heroes do their indispensable duties discreetly and largely unsung, yet they are an essential part of the fabric in every club, great or small. No more fitting recipient could there be for a Lifetime Award than Chris, so ably aided and abetted by his wife Sue, and smart of KM to enter the nomination. Congratulations all !!
