Addicks v's Reading Match Thread 05/04/14

Afternoon all...6 points from the 9 available from 3 hard away games was a handsome return, but now the addicks are back at The Valley, and another 3 points would be most welcome, if not for anything else other than home fans who have seen very few victories this season. We need to pull further away from the bottom but today will not be easy, however I think we can nick it. All the usual stuff here and I'll bring you the teams as soon as I get them.

  • Greetings from Soggy Cornwall - misty soft drizzle just like you get every day on a summer camping holiday in Wales.

    Rooting for the Reds!

  • chuch will score the first goal

  • Church? Lol settling for a point
  • Reading didn't play during the week, which should give them the edge in the final 20 minutes or so. I expect us to lose this 1-0.
  • Gooch on the bench after his goal? Did he take a knock tuesday?
  • Don't understand that line-up. Assumed all our other forwards were injured hmmmm
  • So they've got Obita and we've got Obika...

    Tactics, dear boy.

Church to run the channels and work the oppo's defenders, as Charlton play a tight defensive game in the 1st half.

After 55 minutes on come the strikers to win the game.

You heard it here first. ;o)

  • Also no Thuram again...
  • piggot dropped like a stone, im guessing reza's knackered from mid week
  • I would expect Church to last not longer than HT, to be replaced with one of the numerous strikers on the bench. I think Riga is trying to manage his resources & make sure our strongest team is available for the Yeovil game.

This, it's all about squad rotation at this stage, let's face it - far more important games against Yeovil and Barnsley and I don't expect church to start in either
  • Church out wide and AA through the middle?
  • Church playing ahead of those other options is just plain wrong.
  • Church should be playing Left Back... In The Changing Room
  • I'm in a traffic jam near PortsmouthHarbour and I'm pretty sure I heard the groan when Church's name was read out.
  • Afternoon from chilly Copenhagen. Here's hoping for three points.
  • I'm not there another hour due to Southeastern being erm, Southeastern. At least I won't miss us scoring.
