Its a complete joke, Kermorgant to Bournemouth and Stephens to Brighton. Who do bring in? a goalkeeper we don't need, a sub par midfielder who looks as though hes going to be used to warm the bench and a right winger who will spend most of his time with the U21s (if he turns out to be any good he will either be sold or will go back to Liege)
At the moment its safe to say we have given up on trying to survive in the Championship. Its about time Charlton fans found out exactly what is going on and where all the money is going.
Its strange when you think we had the money from the sale of Darren Bent, the sale of Scott Parker, the Parachute payment and the sale of Carl Jenkinson and yet we can't even afford to repair the drainage system at the Valley.
And Murrey is still in charge!
Murray is like the Queen.
A sop to the past to be wheeled out on ceremonial occasions but no real power whatsoever.
Earlier someone posted CPs interview with the Newshopper---CP saying "we cant stop people coming in for our best players" it was noted then atht we could by saying they aint for sale !!
2 months ago we said if we sold all our best players it was a fire sale to stave off administration--------------------now who knows what the feck is going?
Why to a relegation rival that we still have to play though?
Relegation rival? Good side, spending money, 10 points ahead of us and outplayed Liverpool for long periods on saturday. No chance they'll be anywhere near the drop zone

Yeah, I would have you right there actually. Still probably score a bloody hat trick against us though.
He's our best player and we're prepared to sell him. There's nothing more to be said than this is a shocking decision. Once you make that decision to sell off your best player then you might as well throw in the towel and say we don't want to stay up. From the players we have bought in and the players we are rumoured to be bringing in we're making a massive mistake here. We have this unknown Dutch Iranian who may just be a cheap stop gap from one of RD's other clubs to placate the fans, make it look like we're signing a forward. Simeon Jackson (again rumoured) who is nowhere near as good. And if Yann goes then we're left with the waste of space that is Simon Church. But don't worry, according to captain Jackson, Church is going to start firing on all cylinders. HAHA. Jackson (past it), talking up what we specialise in down at The Valley, THE NON GOAL SCORING FORWARD. Last night was hard to take but this, and the potential knock on effect tells me this club have lost their backbone. From the rumours I have heard knocking about, we have offered Yann a contract, but Bournemouth's is far better. I don't know if it's so much better that we can't get near it, but I genuinely think that Yann's mind has been made up by the events of the past 6/7 months, and that really pisses me off. I believe he wants to stay, we just haven't done enough to keep him here. We will now pay the price. RD will pay the price because it will cost him lots more money to keep us afloat as a League One team than it would a Championship team. Our team was going to struggle to stay up with Yann in it. What would've given us a chance was Yann plus new additions. This takeover had me excited at the start of the month as we had secured stability and short term security. All the noises were of 'getting the manager and players' contracts sorted out'. With two and a bit days left of the window, this is becoming a farce of play starring a clutch of fringe Liege players, our hero being killed off and no sign of any positive, decisive decision from the Producers.
I am not a frequent poster but this whole situation is a disgrace and upsets me as a fan. No one man is bigger than the club and that includes Yann but RD's apparent 'strategy' is either that all these random, untested players from Liege will be good enough to keep us up or to accept almost certain relegation. The former is just plain deluded (and I would be surprised if SCP thinks otherwise) and the latter I find profoundly unacceptable- as a supporter I cant just accept in January that our Board has accepted relegation which if we lose Stephens, Wiggins and Yann will happen.
Even if we get the reported £400k for Yann, do we honestly think that there is someone out there we could get for that money who will immediately come in and have the kind of impact he has had in the last three years. Regardless of the fact that on paper £400k for a 32 year old sounds like it might be good business, his impact on the pitch during the last three years has been invaluable.
It's important to stress that we wouldn't be in this position had Slater and Jimenez given a monkeys about the club and sorted the contracts out- they clearly left us in an unbelievable mess (as the pitch seems to symbolise quite appropriately).
I have no idea how SCP has tolerated the club over the past year and he deserves far better than to work for owners who have no interest in what is for the best of the club.
Surely I'm too old to feel as disappointed with a player leaving as I currently do.
Don't think it's so much Yann leaving (as bad as that is) it's the fact that it appears our owner is fucking about with our club without a care in the world.
I'm not slating CP but listening to his interviews its like he doesn't want to say anything against the board because hes hoping for a new contract.
The guys fighting a loosing battle. Given our current position in the league I'm sure he would have rather have signed players that were going to make a difference rather than a bunch of Standard Liege reserves.
A friend said to me CP looks like hes ran out of game changing ideas and that hes not a Championship manager, but whats he supposed to do with the squad hes got and then the board decide to sell your top goalscorer and one of your best midfielders. The board are pulling the rug from under him and giving him no support what so ever.
RD needs to come out and explain to the paying fans what his plan is, especially if he expects fans to renew their season tickets.
Really? I was gutted that day but obviously took it harder being younger. If Yann had killers goal ratio it would be worse but sadly our goals scored this year speaks for itself.

Maybe mate. It would definitely soften the blow if we had a Billy Sharp-esque striker already brought in. But Yann, for me at least, represents someone so fundamental in returning our club from a very dark time to what should have been a much less dark time. It wasn't meant to end this way, but that's football.
Yann is 32, prone to injury and out of contract in the summer. He is a mid champ player at best. He isn't the future. 1 million would be crazy good business. Even 400k seems fair given that he can walk in the summer. It may be time to have a little faith in RD. His vision seems to be working at standard liege. He was left with a relegation level team. I'm sure he new this when he bought us. I have faith in his vision. I expect the players we bring in to allow us to survive. Most of the squad will be gone by next year and replaced by better. I expect us to be playing better football and challenging for promotion next year.

Dont blame the old regime. This is the belgian football club collector's policy. Sell the assets Charlton have and fill gaps with dross from his other clubs.
If Kermorgant goes it must be with a view to signing at least 1 quality championship striker and possibly 2. No way can Bournemouth pay more wages than us. If he goes it'll be to make way for others. Otherwise we would just keep him and let him go for nothing in the summer. Selling him and signing nobody and going down with 400k in Roland's pocket won't be part of his plan.

Gonna try and put the same spin on Wiggins now? What about Stephens next?

(And yes, I know he was two months short of his 30th birthday when he signed).
