Christ money doesn't go in on time bills start getting bounced all over the place. That is shit.
The payments they make to my company went tits up months ago, used to be bang on time each month now we have to chase all the time, sometimes with the threat of suspending the account.
Promising news for us and Powell is that Harris kept 76ers head coach Doug Collins on after he took over and kept faith with him through some poor runs. He resigned earlier this year but is still involved there as an adviser.
I do think that these American investors who accumulate a series of sports 'franchises' do fundamentally miss the fact that US sport is inherently more attractive as an investment proposition compared to UK/European soccer clubs.
I'd point to the fact that there are fewer of them (particularly so relative to the population), no relegation, various methods to ensure league 'fairness' and competition, the ability to negotiate individual TV deals, and ultimately the ability if all else fails to simply up sticks and move the franchise to a different city.
To get a sense of the scale, just take a look at this: http://www.nba.com/sixers/front-office-directory - I doubt very much if a mid-sized Premiership club would have more than a couple of people in sales/marketing roles by comparison. A 'client experience account manager' for Bartram's anyone?
They may have incentives other than profit of course (ego, enjoyment etc.) but I very much doubt it.
OMG it's started already It's football mate football!
I prefer the Greenwich Minutemen as a reference to our fundamental place in the history of time (quite literally).
Is there any sports franchise in the states where the first part of the name is not the name of a major city as opposed to a very small district in a city?
I wouldn't get too distracted with this, now it is in the public attention i'm sure it will be resolved today.
Two of the posts above though from EastStandMike and SonicStud emphasise why this club needs to quickly start moving in a new direction / governance.
You sound confident. What makes you think this will be wrapped up today?
I personally think this has got months of legs in it.
Logic
- Whenever there have been issues paying the wage bill before i believe RM has stepped in - Unless the takeover interest has completely collapsed, which no one appears to have heard, then not paying staff would be potentially very damaging at an important point of negotiations. This current lot have stomached providing the on-going shortfall for quite a while, it won't stop at this point close to handover - We've an important game tomorrow and sending a quad out unpaid and pissed off is not the best tactic. - As stated, nothing contractually has been broken yet - No this is public knowledge, those at the top will want to avoid this becoming a bigger story.

You are making an assumption that the deal is going ahead (or are you?)
Why not pay staff if a takeover is imminent ? Maybe as was previously said it isn't anywhere near.
or its very close and they are holding off using there own money.
If you are on the verge of buying a business would you not insist all bank accounts are temporarily frozen? Otherwise you run the risk of the old owners taking all the money from those accounts as soon as the deal has been signed?
if the negotiations are that far advanced not paying wages does not make sense because the buyers will now admin is just around the corner and the can buy the club for peanuts also slater & co loose all their money

I'm not sure if AFKA was talking about the proposed takeover or the Wages situation.
sorry Carly, was reffering to the wages situation. As for the takeover, i don't believe anything is imminent yet.
Fair enough mate. It's the skit in the South London Guess that has got me thinking. I'm guessing the investors mentioned in that article are the yanks.it is assumed that the story was a plant to draw someone else out from under their shell. We shall see.
I was told at the game on Tuesday that it was Josh Harris, from a very good source, that most people on here would trust, so it's definitely not made up by The Mail.
Price mentioned in SLP was 18m plus 7m director loans + 4m bank loan making 29m
Although actually the directors' loans are £8m, of which £1m to RM attracts interest.
It's quite funny that if any one of the dozens of people who have had this name had put it on here they'd have been shot down in flames, yet because it appears in the Mail it is taken as true. Not saying it isn't, just be cautious. I can tell you the staff and players haven't been paid overnight as usual (last working day of the month), even though the club is contractually obliged to do so.
That is poor, very poor and a good reason why we shouldn't rush to slap the current regime on the back for their shrewd management of the Club
It makes me really angry, and I feel most sorry for those in the offices who aren't on £xk per week but have "normal" jobs.

As stated though, there appears to have been hundreds of supporters that were aware of the Harris link. I suspect Sale has just been fed it by the person that gave him the bizarre BDL story.
