Jealousy

I must confess. I am Jealous.
We can slag smallwall off for having no support, being knuckle draggers etc, but I for one would love to be playing Wigan at Wembley (bet it's a nice sunny day) this weekend with a F.A cup final and probably Europe on offer to the winner.
If they win, my jealous level will hit at least 7 on the richter scale.
Why, oh why are we crap in the cup?

  • We also had our time in the sun with 7 consecutive years in the Premier League, I know what I'd prefer.
  • Saturdays game will be a nice distraction for Wigan, who will go on to hammer them and we'll all be on here laughing at the shoddy spanners.......................
  • You can never be jealous of them. They're far too embarrassing a club for that.

"Wembley again, that's what we do!" - Need I say more?

9,000 at home, that's what they do.
  • And having to pay Wembley prices for a semi-final knowing that either
    a) you're going to be pissed off cos you lost
    or
    b) you're going to have to fork out stupid money all over again for the final.
  • Thing is that if you're going to play at Wembley in an FAC SF then you'd really want to play one of the big boys and have the potential for an unforgettable giant killing.

Playing Wigan is a massive anti-climax, if they beat them then who will really care anyway?

My dream is for Wigan to win big and send the Spanners into a relegation spiral.

  • 8,000 at home, that's what they do.

Corrected , you can't include the 1k of wednesday fans in that total !

    .

How do you think Wigan feel.
  • Not really jealous. Given the choice between a small club that gets to play at Wembley a couple times in recent years or a bigger club with a better stadium, 18K to 20K attendances and a history of playing at a higher level I know what Id pick...
  • I'm incredibly jealous.
  • Nollys facebook status "I wish i was Millwall for a day"

  • I want Wigan to reach double figures....total humiliation please
  • Yes I have always wanted to be a Millwall supporter...
  • Nothing to be jealous about. They make me laugh when they went to the play off final there were loads of so called "Supporters" waiting for the bus in Welling all wearing brand new Millwall shirts. Probably never been to a match in their life before that.
  • I'm gutted that a shit club and actually a shit team can have a day in the sun. The prize on offer is a place in Europe. When are we likely to have that at stake in a one off game ? Jealous ? Yeah a little bit.
  • No, I dont get jealous of Millwall.
I'm better than them in every way.
  • Am I jealous? Too bloody right I am. Think of the plans we'd be making for tomorrow, we'd all be buzzing today.

Shows what you can do when you take a cup seriously.

The good thing is that by having them all in one place for a couple of hours maximises the death count if there were some form of (natural) disaster.

Now if they were playing Palace and something happened then that would be even better.
  • couldn't give a flying.

Wigan will pass the muppets to death and spanner em.
  • I fancy us to get to another Wembley playoff final within the next few years.
  • Can you imagine the smell of piss and general scum rising from their end of the ground ?

  • Not really , if they get into Europe it will hardly help them if they manage to stay in the championship. More games, which noone in this division can handle!

Ideal world They get spanked but if not at least next season you know will be more of a struggle for them :)

It would be worth going back to League 1 for a chance to see us play in Europe.

Totally disagree, sorry but its better long term and financially for us to be in the Champ then a 1 or 2 games in Europe. Never bothers me how bad we are in the cups, although it would be nice if we had a good day out but i'd rather us do well in any league any day

Have a decent shot at a JPT final too....

Even my old man surrenders to the fact at least there at a semi final , you support a club to have moments like that , seven years in the premier no cups no cup runs no Europe , take yourself out of charlton world for just one moment , is it really enough ? We're unique as a football club are size to have no moments in the sun

How about we make wembley in a major cup not play offs . Jealous yes extremely , anyone who is keeping up the pretence there not is a liar
  • hopefully in years to come the cup quarter finals will be played at Wembley ... then we'd stand a chance
  • This thread reeks of passive agressive jealousy. I'd love to have a decent cup run and a crack at winning something.

of course everyone of a sane Charlton mind is jealous of every minge of a club that makes it to a cup semi final , even more so if at Wembley ......
it just so happens that this year it's the scums

So youre saying that the real reason you should support a club like Charlton is for experiencing cup finals and Wembley games?

A 7 year run in the premier league wasnt a moment in the sun?

I support Charlton because they were my local team, if things like a Wembley final happen, its just a bonus, and I dont pine for them everytime I watch a cup/playoff final....
