Small things in life - yet still turn out to play big part.....

Currently touring Australia, after being in the countryside of Coffs Harbour - back now in the city of Sydney, reminding me of back home, but also not - as the way of life already seems so different from London....But thats not what Im commenting on.........

Have logged on this evening, and dreaded a certain subject appearing here and on the news - and one that was always to cause divide and show peoples real opinions on an individual that will always has that divide.

Im not commenting on that....cos quite frankly regardless of that view - there always will be an opposite side which some cant respect or be prepared to listen to the other view....

Im here - (maybe drink involved somewhat ) but being on the otherside of the world - has truly given me an opportunity to realise what AFKA and LOOKOUT have both achieved - not domestically but globally - to the point - at 00.45am I can log on and follow/check and see what my beloved CAFC have been uptp (or maybe not ) and able to follow that Charlton Community and spirit around the globe....and follo w Charlton on the pitch / off the pitch / Community and Charity work and all sorts......and how we can turn to and help everyone in times of need through this site.

I want to pay tribute to both these guys who have invested in this Community project - and you can all see how successful this has been through their charity work / sponsorship work and building a community not only in SE7, London, England, United Kingdom BUT the world..and by the number who post on here.....and considering how hard they are both are with family life especially recently and other commitments that they are still dedicated to this site - I urge that when they ask to be respectiful and not comment on certain subjects that can be volatile.......we all have our views - but we need to respect each others.........I think AFKA and Lookout deserves that after what they give back to us..........

Like I say - unfortunatly drink has spoken here in Sydney - hope you get the drift.......These boys have worked tiredlessy to achieve this - so when they ask a little favour....is it too much for us to abide and be respectful...............

Love you all Charltonlife.
Off to find my next beer....

  • What a crawler.
  • Get your tongue out of AFKA's a..............................................
  • I have been trying to convince my Wife about this for years !
  • Probably not how I would have put it but I agree 100% with the sentiment. We are fortunate on here that AFKA and Lookie have provided us with such a terific platform to discuss topics away from football.

These are difficult and uncertain times and also politically unique so there is going to be a lot to discuss and a lot of differing views on subjects. Having been given the platform we all have a responsibility to respect each others views and behave accordingly. Not everyone from the left is a marxist tosser in need of burning and not everyone on the right a Tory f##pig (whatever that is).

We need to remember that and, given the events of the next week, give those that run this site the respect they deserve and if they saya subject is out of bounds, then leave it. The alternative is there's no discussion beyond football and imho the site would be poorer for it.

There are some views expressed on here that I have no respect for whatsoever, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. However, I respect the right of the individual to express such opinions - that's the difference.
  • As an ex pat totally agree mate... and as Arthur Conan Doyle said "the smallest things in life are infinitely the most important"
  • Well said, rhino.
