Local Derbies etc

As an `infrequent` Visitor here I thought I would offer some alternative views to the usual threads you will have on here!.

First of all, oh what difference a week makes. We were UNRECOGNISABLE yesterday from the Team that `turned-up` last week against your lot. For a start the front two did not Play which was a good move and Vaughan returned (who we really miss) and was supported by the improving Danny Ward.

We were outstanding yesterday and good for the win, more of the same and we will be joining you in this division again next season.

For a game about 20 miles away we only took just over 1600 of a 3000 allocation and this was squarely down to a large number of fans boycotting the match due to the £36 ticket price. Scandalous. Made plenty of noise though and an 86th minute winner at Leeds is as good as it gets for us.

Was surprised by your result, I thought the Cup and midweek match may have distracted them.

Anyway, my final point, I have seen an extremely long thread relating to Police arrangements for your match and have not been able to read it all.

When we played Leeds at home earlier in the season, on the request of the West Yorkshire Police (who are shit scared of Leeds fans) we had to move it from a sky-TV game on the Friday night to the Saturday at 12:30. Not only that and this is the best bit, they made us take the long route round and filtered us across a tiny bridge at the back of the main stand (those of you that have been to our ground I am sure will know where I mean) and did not keep the Leeds fans in and allowed them to take the quickest and easiest route away from the ground to the Town centre without any inconvenience AT OUR HOME MATCH. This is the same police that kept Chelsea fans locked in at Elland road for I think best part of an hour earlier in the season after a cup match. How does that work?.

I have got to say the atmosphere both inside and outside the ground for our 12:30 game yesterday was sterile really compared to some previous encounters. No real nastiness in the air and I didn`t even see an argument I am pleased to say. I can imagine it wasn`t the same in and around the Valley!?.

Final point, our next home game is against Hull City who have been allocated 1500 tickets (for our 4000 away end). Not only that, you have to go on official coaches from Hull, the only alternative being that you can meet the Police escorted coaches at a service station near Huddersfield and board one of these coaches then (subject to conditions). This was because local based Hull fans complained they had to go all the way to Hull to come back again to go to the match!!!!!?????.

Ridiculous, anyway, we have our 12:30 kick-off against Millwall looming and that I am sure will be fun and games in and around our Town!.

As always, all the best and would be interested to hear any views from you Guys in relation to any of the content of my post.

We always lose to Millwall and other results went against us yesterday.

    Hence the wrist slitting!

The police and/or clubs certainly seem to enjoy dumping on football supporters at the moment it is true.

Read the thread re our exit arrangements yesterday!
