Would be interested in any inside info on David Whyte, who was at the club at the same time as Mike. Garry Nelson wrote a bit about him in his first book and Curbs also told the story in his book of him and Steve Gritt having to pick up Whyte from his council flat after he didn't turn up for training. Always got the impression there might be a few stories to tell about Whytie.
Mike Ammann - really rated him as a keeper I have to say
David Whyte - what a wasted talent. Still insist that the year he scored 20+ goals for us was one of the best seasons from a CAFC striker I can remember....overhead kick versus Sunderland, lob versus Watford, volley away at Swindon...
@DamoNorthStand Remember all those goals, plus a glorious free kick against Brentford in the FA Cup the following season. Typical enigmatic genius, all the talent, none of the brains and application required. Still merits a place in my all time favourite eleven.
Please can you ask Mike what his favourite game in a Charlton Shirt was , and why? and also did he have any say in the colours of the goalkeepers shirt , as they seemed pretty horrendous from Memory!
The interview should be on Sundays show, he talks about moving to Charlton, his days at the Club, his time in the MLS and we do cover a highly controversial incident he was involved in, and he talks about the MLS, clearly he feels he can can do a job in the MLS, a really decent interview if I say so myself, Mike was very good and easy to talk to, worth a listen.
He is currently over here with his son who is having trials with Spurs.
Reading the metro interview, he seems like someone who will speak his mind and not go for the "please everyone" diplomatic soundbites you normally get from ex pro's. Will definately be giving this a listen.
OK, apologies for last week but we should have the audio on tonight's show, along with an interview with Academy boss Paul Hart, Chris Powell looks forward to tomorrow nights match and we'll be hearing from former Addicks stopper Nicky Weaver as well.
It was a shame we couldn't play it last week but we think our interview with Nicky Johns really made up for it, if you haven't heard it, it's available on catchup via Player at the moment, with a podcast due out in a couple of weeks.

Yes he is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Ammann
CL - can you ask Mike what he thinks of the MLS today as compared to when he played in it? Thanks.
