The Michael Jackson sculpture

Yes I know it's at Foolham and yeah I know I shouldn't really care but can you imagine something like this happening at the Valley? Amazing folly I reckon.

  • We should have a life size statue of the bloke from squeeze
  • Apparently the drummer from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers came a match once.
  • I heard the interviw on 5 live, telling your own fans if they don't agree with you that they should go and support chelsea or qpr is bloody scandulous.
  • What do you mean 'going' mental? ;)

    Some of you lot... Honestly.

Obviously it's not meant to touch the hearts of cynical oldies, it's meant to touch the kids.

    Could be a real Thriller.

Very good Chunes. Made me laugh anyway.

So he told them to beat it?
  • Does it overlook the family stand?
  • Yes. He's mental.
  • Is there a sweets vendor next to it?

  • Looks more like Janet Jackson.
  • Does it?? ha ha, must look it up.................. oh my fuck it's an awful looking thing!
  • any club that has a 'neutral' encloser is a piss pot joke of a club and this sums it up, stil at least the japanese tourists will have somthing to photograph.
  • Old Sam had to play 679 times to get his statue at the Valley, maybe we should relax our criteria a little. Question is, who do we put up on the vacant plinth? Viggo Jacobsen? Dowie? Jim Davidson?
  • Serves them right for that Queudrue goal in the 93rd minute, the real beginning of the end for us!
  • It must be humiliating for them - the chairman has put a big statue of a kiddy fiddler outside the front of the stadium and has said that anyone that doesn't like it can go to hell and support Chelsea (I thought they were the same thing tbh).

So, fitting punishment for that disgraceful Queudrue 'goal' then!

He's now planning to put Garry Glitter's face on the front of the kit, apparently.

I wish I knew some Fulham fans to laugh at.....

Maybe we could have one of Dowie and Pardew , and least then when we come out after a defeat , we can throw eggs at it.
  • I have not seen the statue. Is Jacko smiling at a little boy?
I wonder what Bubbles would make of it if he could speak?
  • 'People will come and visit it from all over the UK'

I seriously doubt that! But what a laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • The statue was of course to be erected outside Harrods, but then he sold Harrods, so put it outside Craven Cottage instead.

  • Doesn't even look like Michael Jackson........thinking about it neither did Michael Jackson.........
  • April fool
  • People will come from all over the UK to see it?

Maybe we could organise a CL get together to go and see the statue?
  • Ridiculous.

What's it got to do with Fulham FC?

Apart from the fact that it looks like a giant Subbuteo player.
  • People suggesting we put statues of stars like Jim Davidson in place of Sam are missing the point - at least Davidson supports the club and is a football fan - I doubt MJ could've explained the off-side rule.

He had his UEFA B Licence actually.
  • After the MJ statue, Ars*nal are following suit by having a statue of Jim Bowen installed outside the Cameldome. Underneath, the slogan...."just look at what you could have won!"
  • this is probably the best/funniest thing about football in recent years, I'm so glad I'm not a Fulham fan...

Absolutely and utterly the funniest thing to happen in football ever. Tacky Tacky Tacky. Sums up Fulham perfectly.
On the other side of the coin though, imagine following that club through thick and thin for years and years and then Mo comes along takes over, gets his feet under the table and then years later he does that and then tells you as a hard core fan "if you don't like it go to hell or support Chelsea (the same thing really)" It would be hard not to be completely insulted. I wonder if there is any truth in the rumour that the Di and Dodi tribute will also be rehoused at Craven Cottage, so Fulham and neutral fans can pay their respects pre match.
  • There are some football teams that just make you wonder why they exist at all
