Kevin Nolan's Memoirs

11664.jpg

I was given a copy today by Hazel, Kevin's wife.

Once I've read it I'll be donating it to the museum.

Only 50 were printed and they have been given to friends and family but would there be an interest from others in buying a copy for around £10?

If there is, it might be possible to have a limited run of extra copies made up or to have a print on demand option.

I'd recommend this. I have a copy already thanks to Hazel on Saturday and it's a good read, especially if you knew and liked Kevin. It is very much his voice. It's great he left this behind for us. What I would caution, however, is that it's only 10% about Charlton, so if you're expecting more then you may be disappointed.
  • Can I ask, what is the other 90%? If it's about an interesting SE London life then I'm in.

It's Kevin's story, so national service, California, etc. So some of that but it's his memoir so it's about him.
  • Sure, just don't know him at all other than the reports in the Mercury etc. Don't know how this stuff works but something that be read on a Kindle etc, would that be possible for a payment? But I'll pay a tenner to read about a life well lived.

My favourite things about Kevin's Charlton reports were his glorious turns of phrase and occasional random flights of fancy, so I'm sure it'd be a good read, regardless of the level of Charlton content. I'd be in for a copy too.

I'll speak to Rob, who did a great job on this original print run, and see what is possible.

  • I would love to get hold of a copy, would be a cracking read.

I might even get a mention as a friend of his son's - the much missed @nolly on here and as a former team mate of Kevin's at Marvels Lane Cricket Club!
