Did it Kick off in the North Upper

edited October 2006 in General Charlton
Got the usual everyone standing up looking.

Didn't bother myself as I was watching the game.

Anyone see anything

  • Silly Arsenal fan cheered when they scored and then gave it the large one by taking off his jacket to reveal an Arsenal shirt, loadsa shouting to geeeeeeeeeeeeet ooooooooout etc and as he was being lead down the stairs by the stewards a Charlton fan landed one right on his chin which was greeted with cheers.
  • yeah, fella who sits in front of me lamped a gooner. the idiot took his jacket off when percy scored his 2nd and sat there looking smug. people clocked and warned him to get out but he just ignored them. stewards realised he was about to get launched and came up to pull him out. as he was getting escorted downstairs this lad swang for him and a few others tried to get at him. no charlton were thrown out, definitely not the lad who hit him.
  • yes but that fella who lamped may not have gotten thrown out then but i reckon he should expect a letter from the club asking him to come in and visit.
  • Yes B, I suspect the club will be in touch with the bloke. Same as happened with German P - rush of blood resulting in a 5 year ban.

The person who should be punished is the one who got him into the ground.
  • the gooner was sat next to a fella in a charlton shirt who was looking very sheepish, not sure if it was him who get him in. to show your shirt in the opposing end after a goal is an act of aggression as far as i'm concerned, he got off lightly.

the charlton kid knew he wouldn't get away with it, he said to his mates it was his last game sat there, he knows what's coming.
  • really hope not. the bloke was giving it to all on sudry as he was taken out and deserved everything he got.

give the fella an official warning, but let it go. We'd just conceded, we'd just gone behind, and a lairy goona starts giving it. Surely there is a provacation angle ?
  • If there is a complaint then the club will have to ban him.
If not, ask him to come in and give him a final warning.

That wont cut any ice though . All they will say is you should let the stewards do their job and the bloke will probably get banned , which is bollox

some may say the club did him a favour? :-)
  • It could be the answer to a happier life Suz. I might just walk up and lamp anyone who shows the slightest sign of a smile when we concede our next goal.

  • At last season's Man U game there was a lad in a United away top seven or eight seats along from me in my old east stand seat - brazen as anything, looking pretty pleased with himself and leapt up when they scored. Never been so tempted to punch anyone in years. It's provocation. He didn't come back to his seat after half-time.
  • maybe he'd have a case as it quite clearly states on entry home supporters only so the fact it wasn't could go in his favour. clutching at straws I know but I hope they don't ban him.
  • The club do take a reasonable stance and will often call people in for "a chat" rather than going straight to a ban but if people throw punches then they have to expect some sort of punishment even if it is only a few games.

And the person who sold the ticket to the Gooner will be in trouble as well.
