Wycombe are facing injury crisis

Injury problems are plaguing Wycombe Wanderers before the season opener at Charlton Athletic on 8 August.

Manager Peter Taylor told the club website: "We've got nine injuries in a squad of 20-odd."

Midfield pair Ian Westlake and Tommy Doherty picked up injuries in the 2-1 defeat by QPR on Tuesday and now look doubtful for for the Charlton game.

Doherty injured his ankle ligament whilst new signing Westlake strained his hamstring.

Taylor was forced to send out a weakened side in Thursday night's friendly against Hampton and Richmond, a friendly which the Chairboys lost 1-0.

The Wanderers will be looking to avoid any more injuries in Saturday's friendly away at Bristol City.
