If someone taking the p#ss out of cancer patients is for you crack on.
Don't have a go at me though at something I find funny.
Where do you draw the line?
Can you get much worse at Rodney marshes joke about the tsunami where 250000 people died.

As someone who has worked, shopped, socialised in Central London for 26 years, lived in and had my whole family based in inner London and its suburbs all my life, i personally don't really see any noticeable change in London under the Mayorship of Khan from Johnson from Livingston. They have very little impact.

There's a whole heap of society issues that have impacted upon society changes (take for example the hot topic of increase in knife crime) but i don't see any real difference in direction and governship under any different mayor. So for that reason i think people that blame Johnson for ruining their city or Khan for ruining their city are just looking for an excuse to wage their political spite.

Probabably one for the House of Commoners group rather than the main board

You wouldn’t be saying this if you had to drive a cab for a living.
So your saying you haven’t seen any changes in London under the 3 mayors. Your either blind or they are not doing the job they were elected to do.
The latest disaster ‘ Mayor Khant’ and I have spelt that right is to flood London with an extra 80,000 private hire vehicles and at the same time make the roads smaller by installing cycle lanes then implement  the ULEZ zone.
I haven’t even began to scratch the surface.

So being Mayor is all about looking after black cab drivers is it?

Classic? I liked him in the snooker program and generation game, but maybe I've had my sense of humour ruined by the left. Maybe.
I was being ironic - just illustrates how dreadful his comedy was.
But back in the day that wasn’t the case......it was full on main stream, with BBC and media acceptance.
Something you and many others fail to realise or accept.
I was around at the time and found him unfunny and offensive then - the Chalky character shows how crap he was. It may have been mainstream but it was dteadful.
But obviously not a view not shared by millions of fans at the time.
Fortunately times have changed and racist, homophobic comedy is not so popular.
Sadly they’ve been replaced in the mainstream by racist homophobic politicians.
and so called politically minded left wing comedians (the description is an ironic laugh all by itself) who advocate chucking battery acid on their political opponents
Fippin’ ek, if you can’t make jokes about that, what can you make jokes about.

This forum does seem to have a very high propensity of extreme left wing snowflakes, who's views are 100% correct, and enlighting for us older members, who by being born in the fifties and sixties are deemed racist bigoted, right wing, Thatcher loving Nazi scum.

On behalf of my parents I apologise to you all for being born 30 years to early and missing out on the utopian world that you all dwell in.

And by not supporting your views, does not mean I support the opposite, it just means . I am from an age, where I believe a variety of elements can make up a world. An not that I personally am the only one who is 100% right.
“Extreme left” - are you sure? I’m not sure I can think of any posters on this site who fit that bill.

Classic example of someone confusing the subject of a joke with the target. Does anyone seriously think cancer patients would ever be the TARGET of a joke??

For me Alf Garnett was brilliant satire. If you were offended by what he said you didn't get it and if you agreed with what he said it was taking the piss out of you.

Ricky Gervais's stand up can be quite challenging in a similar way. I think how he explained it is that he isn't saying ‘Yes, it is offensive. deal with it.’ he's saying, ‘I don’t think it is offensive. I think you may have misunderstood who the target is.’ Of course he doesn't make that obvious within his act, which is why it can be challenging and the target could be you.

Was out drinking with Roland this evening - told me he won't sell the club until Jim stops supporting it. He thinks a lot of Jim's material is very dated.

Did he say anything about the take over or Bowyer's contract mate?

The bottom line is, Jim is entitled to hold his views and people are entitled to find him funny. It isn't a leftie conspiracy that those numbers are dwindling - just the passage of time.

Told me quite a lot but swore me to secrecy. Passed out after his fifth pina colada - went a bit mad during happy hour.

People that have lived through the 70's and 80's may have a different view from the younger generation.

I lived through the 70s and 80s and saw Jim at his peak - I think the younger generation find it hard to understand his appeal as did I when I was young.

The younger generation would not necessarily know how attitudes were back then.

Did you find your views in the minority?

Yes it was much more acceptable to hold openly racist views then.

    Apparantly Jimbo is Bowyer's agent.

Talks came to a grinding halt.

What was interesting back then was Lenny Henry winning New Faces with a set more racist than anything Jim Davidson has ever done. And I don't think Jim appeared on the Black and White Minstrel show like Lenny did either. I don't think people are too hard on Henry about that now and many would argue that he was doing what he needed to do to be successful - say things the audience of that time felt was funny. My point is not a criticism of Henry but nobody should disect Jim's 70s act and judge him harshly for it.

A lot of racist white people had black mates and would tell them, you are alright, you are an honorary white man! I think some black people as clear minorities in an overtly racist society settled for that. I am glad that isn't acceptable now, but you go online and try to find Lenny Henry's appearances on New Faces and The black and White minstrals and they have been airbrushed from history.
