Songs that mention Charlton and/or it's hinterland.

All I've got is 'Sweet Thames, flow softly' by Ewan McColl. Which mentions Woolwich and Greenwich.

There must be more.

From Parliament Hill down to Greenwich it lingers

    'I knew you were waiting'

    George Michael and Aretha Franklin.

It came out during our exile, but as the return to our home and on the day of our return I couldn't get this part out of my head.

When the river was deep, I didn't falter
When the mountain was high, I still believed
When the valley was low, it didn't stop me, no no
I knew you were waiting, I knew you were waiting for me
    Uh huh

Even now, recalling the feelings of those special days, it has the power to move me to tears.

On a Sunday only we know, where the sunlight and the wind blows.
    Over bluebells, over Blackheath.
Calling your name, I will float through your window.
