Mikhail Kennedy & Josh Umerah.

Two forwards not been mentioned on hear recently. Mikhail is back to fitness after over a year out, been out on loan for a month to Chelmsford City. Josh have been out injured since a loan to Boreham wood almost back to fitness. Both these two are 22 and 21 and need to step up to see if they are good enough to play in div one, both have played in the first team in the past.

Yes, I'd say both will be released and probably work back up to our level or higher like so many others let go. Frustrating that there is no updates on the OS as to Josh's injury, precious little on Mikail while he was out.

Kennedy I spoke about the other day, he came on for Igor again Palace on Tuesday and he really impressed me.

However I noticed when Bowyer was talking the other day about players he never even mentioned him which worries me

Might not have a choice but to chuck one of them in, although I don't think either are good enough or fit enough.

Id say that Ocran is probably ahead of both

Not sure I agree with that, both have a better game understanding and are probably more prolific.

I'm not sure Ocran has played any men's football, whereas the other two have.

I don't think either of them have a future at Charlton.

Any Charlton fans remember the game at Brentford U18 ( 4 years ago ?) when a strong Cafc side won the southern section cup.
From memory, Josh Umerah and Hanlan played as the main strikers and Lookman and Aribo were the other two attacking players. Lookman hadn't been at Cafc long at that time. George Lapslie was the action man midfielder and Konsa the rock at the back. Young Bone at just 16 was the youngster in the team.

Umerah was a strong number 9 but for some reason haven't made the same progress.

Lookman and Aribo stood out for their skill and Lapslie for his work rate.

You can watch the entire game back...

    Here’s the lineups.

It wasn’t Aribo, he joined from Staines in the following summer. Must be Charles-Cook you were thinking of @soapboxsam.

I was at the match and remember a great bit of skill from Hanlan on the near touchline. Although he hasn't excelled for Gills, there is a decent player in there. Lapslie showed why he gets picked for our 1st team. Konsa was a rock. Lookman stuck on the wing wasn't really involved but showed classy moments.

That's right Charles-Cook who was the first of that group to play first team football.
I must of seen Aribo at a later match.

They will after June 30th. On July 1st we only have 7 contracted first team players.

Btw.....our marketing people aren't quite as clueless as you might think. Golfie Jnr has this year's calender and I noticed that ALL 7 of those contracted players are on the months from June onwards.

Konsa and Lapslie were outstanding that day, as was Archie Edwards.

I went that day. Thought Konsa was the real star for Charlton.

    Great article.
Mikhail is a fine young man.

It goes to show football is not all about glamour and vast financial rewards, a young lad miles away from home, without the succor of a loving family and close friends, suffering from a serious career threatening injury is a recipe for mental trauma.

Hope all goes well in your future life Mikhail, you seem to be a fine young man.
