New Spurs stadium not ready

So after a national paper exposed the story that the new stadium would not be ready by next month, Spurs were forced to release a statement saying that they will be playing their next few games at Wembley. Which also means the NFL game there has to move too.

Fans are rightly not happy, given that they've paid a fortune (many paying over 1k) for season tickets and even as recently as last week Spurs apparently sent out an email asking fans if they wanted to be part of their home cup game ticket scheme, whilst clearly knowing they wouldn't be playing at the new stadium. This coming off the back of even less summer signings than Charlton made, means the Spurs lot are not a happy bunch right now.

Mmmmmm, are we as Addicks supposed to feel sorry for them?
Under the circumstances it’s chicken feed compared to our plight but watch the media coverage they’ll get in comparison.

The ground is clearly nowhere near ready, it's about time Spurs got realistic with their timetable

I see Ericsson is being linked with PSG, that'll cheer up the Spurs fans ever more!

I don't think anyone will feel sorry for them and obviously compared to other clubs, then waiting a few months to move into your world class 60k seater stadium is hardly a problem. But given the level they're at, then no summer signings, paying extortionate ticket prices, clearly been lied to over when it would be ready, you can see why they're annoyed. It's yet another example of a club treating it's fans with contempt, even if nowhere near the level of us, Blackpool, Coventry etc.

    Its miles away from completion

All you needed to look at as was the webcam streams on Spurs own site to see how far away it was from completion. Can understand the lost months due to the winter weather, but the FA will be laughing with the extra cash

I think it is clear here that their rejection of Belgian know how has cost them dearly. Could we not give them the name and address of a certain person in Belgium, who has all the smarts when it comes to running a football club?

Hey, not many clubs can say they have space for another 60,000 fans in their stadium on a home match day...

Large, complex engineering project running late. Hardly a shock is it. Club not being completely honest with their fans is really the issue. Impressed they have managed to force even more money from their hard-pressed fans for ST's at the new stadium. I would have thought Wembley was premium enough.

9.30am on a weekday morning with about half a dozen people on site. No movement from machinery.

No way will that be completed this year.

Remember when some idiots were claiming it would be ready for the start of last season?

Their new ground will look really dated and old fashioned in 25 years time.

Probably be given the status of historical listed building.

Levy must've known this would happen when he appointed O'Reilly as principal contractor.

Presumably they have hefty penalties in place for the builders not completing in time?

Apparently the stands are the wrong way round, they are facing the pitch

We were approached a few months ago to do the ticketing offices (blast proof), we walked away from the job because of the time scale.
