Following on from Henry's wembley trivia thread, does anyone have an up to date list of all the teams who have played at New Wembley.

Can only find out of date info.

  • I posted this on May 17 on another thread:

Just collated a list from these competitions to see how many of the current (13/14 season) 92 have played at the New Wembley: FA Cup Final and Semi Finals, League Cup Final, Community Shield, Championship, League One, League Two and Conference Play-Off Finals, FA Trophy Final, FA Vase Final and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final.

Before today's FA Cup Final and the Play-Off Finals next weekend, 61 of 92 teams have played at the New Wembley. QPR, Leyton Orient and Rotherham United will become club #62, #63 and #64. Burton Albion will become #65 if they progress past Southend in the League Two Semi-Final this afternoon. Southend have already played at the New Wembley for a JPT final so wouldn't count twice.

I suppose all that leaves is to list the teams that haven't been to Wembley yet (and definitely won't do until at least next season), of which there are 27:

    NEWCASTLE
    NORWICH
    FULHAM

    LEICESTER
    BRIGHTON
    BLACKBURN
    IPSWICH
    BOURNEMOUTH
    NOTTM FOREST
    MIDDLESBROUGH
    SHEFF WED
    CHARLTON

    WOLVES
    PRESTON
    PORT VALE
    WALSALL
    CRAWLEY
    OLDHAM
    COLCHESTER
    COVENTRY
    NOTTS COUNTY
    TRANMERE

    PLYMOUTH
    BURY
    ACCRINGTON
    HARTLEPOOL
    WYCOMBE

Depending on whether Luton or Cambridge have played at the new Wembley in a competitive fixture, you can add them to the list of 27 above.

Cambridge played in the Conference play-off final at the new Wembley.

Turns out Luton were in a JPT final amongst other fixtures there. So we're back to just the 27 teams quoted above. :-)
  • does that mean us and Fulham are the only twio london clubs not to play there?
  • When did AFC Wimbledon play there?

Not strictly competitive. Also found them winning the conference play-off final but that particular game was at Man City.. hm.
  • Reviving an old thread.

With Spurs playing at Wembley this season lots of teams made their first appearance at the national stadium.

Had a quick run through of the recent playoffs and cup finals, combined with the list above and have come up with the following 14 teams (of the 92 in the Football League) that have yet to play at Wembley.
I haven't included Lincoln in the list below as they are set to play there in a couple of weeks in the Football League Trophy final.

    ACCRINGTON
    BARNET
    BLACKBURN
    BURY
    CHARLTON
    COLCHESTER
    CRAWLEY
    FULHAM
    IPSWICH
    NOTTINGHAM FOREST
    NOTTS COUNTY
    OLDHAM
    PORT VALE
    WOLVES

Might be 1 or 2 errors but I believe these are the only 14/92 that haven't played there.

Potentially Accrington, Blackburn, Fulham and Notts County could come off that list in the play offs this season. I would say Charlton as well..............
  • Bromley off to Wembley now too.

Yes, we're supporting Ed Sheeran in the summer
Even in my desperation to see us play there, I think I’ll swerve that.
  • Never been to the New Wembley, been waiting for you know what..........come on lads

Barnet off the list (relegated from the football league)
2 teams promoted to league 2 (Tranmere and Macclesfield) have both been to Wembley already

    13/92 remaining.

Notts County and Fulham could both make their first trip this month too.

Potentially down to just 11 of the 92
  • Any of those play Spurs in the cups this year?
  • Newport, Wimbledon & Rochdale played Spurs at Wembley this season

Yeah, it was my revised list. I was just confirming for Callum who asked the question.

Get Spurs away in the 3rd round of the FA Cup...

I'm sure Doncaster will enjoy their day out!
  • Who'll get there first? Charlton or Crawley?

Bury, Charlton, Colchester, Forest & Oldham - all in or around the playoffs
Bury & Port Vale into the 1/4 finals of the EFL Trophy
Notts County bottom of the football league
Orient top of the NL (just)

Could quiet easily be down to single figures by the end of the season.

  • Bury still in Checkatrade trophy so 90 minutes away from Wembley

    Port Vale out
