Right, sobered up now and in the cold light of day it’s easier to explain yesterday’s game. We went at them for 5 minutes, looked good and then Shrewsbury changed their tactics and nullified ours. We had 2 good chances to take a lead and maybe give the opponents something to different to do and maybe keep the game open. We failed as per normal against better teams. While the Shews were able to adapt and change, we were either incapable or lacked the nous to do so. I suspect both. Their first goal, they happen, fair enough but the second, awful defending from a corner. We were never coming back from 2 down against a team that doesn’t let you settle or keep the ball for more than 4 passes. New ownership will happen eventually, it always does. More worrying to me, with about 1000 Shrewsbury fans there yesterday, there was a lot of potential Charlton supporters there. I’ve been going for years, it’s what I do, but how many of the extras thought that shower of shite is worth a full price ticket each week?

If new owners come in with a plan I'd be happy enough for Robinson to get a chance with some real investment behind him (remember how little he's had to spend on players), but if they wanted to bring in someone better, then who would argue against that.
We really need Mavididi back, Kaikai doesn't look like a Premier League or Championship player, Fosu needs to start, and we still really lack an athletic midfield general type player. You don't have a top three squad if you don't have one of those imho.

As soon as Shrewsbury walked on the pitch you knew they would score from a set piece. You can’t play Dasilva, Solly, Kaikai and Marshall in the same side and expect to compete physically and as we draw to the end of the season it’s clear that we can’t make up for it with our flair players. We haven’t looked in control of a game like they did yesterday all season. We need to start playing players who may not be technically as good but do have the physicality and not play more than 2 of the shorter players at any one time. Robinson has been in this division long enough to know it’s a physical league.

I took my Polish neighbours to the match (they've only ever been to four matches between them before). After ten minutes they said, 'you're good, but why are you so small.' Sort of summed up the team and the day really.

Unfortunately, that’s not good enough. After 33 games, you can look down the fixture list and current table and you’ll only find three games in which Charlton have notably outperformed the predictable result - Rotherham, Bradford and Wigan away, and Bradford’s collapse has undermined even that one.
Other than Rotherham and Bradford I make it you have to go down to Bristol Rovers in 12th to find a team we’ve beaten. That’s a measure of where we are and it’s nowhere near good enough for a club with Charlton’s resources and current playing squad.
Eight of the last 13 games are against teams in the top half. Where is the improvement coming from?

Quite right - but rationality has to come into the equation somewhere. A well organised, well balanced team could reel off a run of results in our position but there is no evidence at all in Robinson’s record at Charlton to suggest that is coming. It requires blind faith.

A sign of how low our expectations under Duchatalet have become that we were excited about beating MK Dons and resigned to a home defeat by Shewsbury. Robinson not good enough, the squad not strong enough and held together by youngsters ... and we are left clutching at the hope of a takeover by someone/anyone which seems as far away now as it did at the start of the season. And we haven't even got Daisy to take out our frustration on!
Went to my first game for months, just got back in having stayed down with @TCE for a few beers last night. Not read any posts or comments anywhere, so my take is ok for first 10 minutes had chances to take the lead, didn't do it.....next 80 mins or so we weren't in the game. No urgency even after we went behind, was totally underwhelmed, glad I only paid a fiver to watch that dross.....end of comment.

I’d say Charlton’s results are very predictable. That’s the problem.
