NZ hammering us at the moment.

    100/1 off 11 overs.
  • Options
2 wickets in 2 balls for Rashid in his last over after he was carted all over the place in his first 3 overs.

    NZ 122/3 now.

Jordan was the pick of the bowlers. Bowled quick and got his Yorkers in Well. They struggled to hit him until the 2 sides in the last over.

    @The_President will be pleased! ;)

He was but it says everything about our bowling that he still went for 33.

    Strong start.

51/1 off 5 overs. Hales with 39 off just 17 balls.

Time for Jason Roy to take a blow so far as T20s are concerned. In his last 16 matches in this form of the game he is barely averaging double figures and has a best score of just 29. Overall for England his average is 19.11 - the odd massive innings when everything goes right for him clouds the fact that his technique and shot selection are lacking.

Bad balls pick up bad wickets - and that was bad from both Sodhi and Hales.

Vince and Buttler gone too. Time for Billings to step up because a big score is overdue from him.
  • Options
And much as it hurts to say it, Billings needs to go the same way as Roy.

Malan, on the other hand, has been a real find this winter - real mental resilience.

Oh dear Santner - tips a dolly over the bar for 6!

Sodhi ends up with 2-49 instead of 3-43. Bet he's pleased with his fellow spinner.

Not over yet, Willey with 17 off 5 balls!

Malan out for 59 off 40. Still with Willey, Plunkett, Jordan and Rashid we still have a decent squeak.
  • Options
The NZ catching has been appalling. Southee drops Jordan off a sitter too.
  • Options
    37 off 18 balls

Jordan and Plunkett bowled in two balls.

    29 off 12

Not sure that I saw the point of that single.

This team needs Roy, Vince and Billings out with Root, Morgan and Stokes in.

Buttler and Hales open followed by Malan/Root/Stokes/Morgan and then the rest.

Such a relief to have Nasser and Bumble back on commentary as well.

Playing Billings as a specialist batsman (instead of as cover for Buttler) doesn't work for me. Joe Denly would do a better job for England, and give another bowling option.

Billings doesn't work for me either.

We need to get Trott, Cook and Ballance back into the side.

Looking at the Lions scorecard, it's interesting to compare Leach and Crane

    Leach 29 overs, 3-75
    Crane 10 overs, 0-43

Yet Crane is the one fast tracked into the full England team

Truly wretched from England Lions today! Cornwall wasn't even the destroyer in chief this time - Warrican set to work very nicely. WI should pick both of 'em in the Test side - not like their quick bowlers are up to much

Shocking batting and that 9th wicket partnership was an absolute killer.
  • Options
    Bloody hell!

    Warracan 71no at No 11 then 7-33

Jack Leach nearly won it in the end! Making an absolute mockery of his England non-selection. But there was one man he couldn't dismiss. One large man.

He can only take wickets at Taunton. Allegedly

Absolute carnage for the Aussie bowlers as NZ finish on 243-6 off their 20 overs!
