Show me the way to go home
I'm tired and wanna go to bed
We had decent ground a couple of years ago
Now we've got this shit instead

Oh the memories! Remember going to the clear-up with the huge bonfire (and Steve Gritt turning up); painting the gates and then the great day - with the perfect result! Hopefully the good days will return and we can once again take pride in our famous old club.

Hopefully a message to the stay aways because Mr Irving is in the know

    No matter where we roam,
    The valley is our home.
You will always here us singing this song,
Show me the way to go home.

I wasn't even alive at the time but as a bit of a history boff and someone who loves Charlton I've done a lot of reading about the campaign and this period of Charlton history.

I love that song can imagine the passion it was sung with.
I can remember it like it was yesterday, on the platform after the game against West Ham (think we won 1-0?), with us singing that and West Ham telling us where to stick the valley....... wonder what they think now with Upton park gone.....

Does anyone know whether tickets are required for this event? Or just turn up at the museum on the day?

Afraid not, it's the flyer for the museum's event on 5 December.

Does anyone know whether tickets are required for this event? Or just turn up at the museum on the day?

Just turn up, no tickets, no charge

Third line was 'we had a lovely ground about a season ago' . The A then became two/three etc.
