Welling United & North Korea

Been happy to go over to see Welling more than a few times over the last few years when Charlton are away, I'd definitely hold them up in high regard as my 'second team' and this is how they treat fans for tweeting fact that their tickets are expensive!

  • Very sad.
  • Jobsworths, I'll be heading to Greenwich Borough later instead
  • One of my mates is a Welling fan and even he isnt bothering these days because of how Goldberg is treating the club.

Sad when you remember the fans put their money on the table a few years ago to help the club avoid a winding up order from the HMRC
  • Clubs are increasingly active in trying to control social media. Much easier for smaller clubs as they have fewer fans to monitor. Sad times.
  • Really is quite a small thing to do.
  • Prats, so much for free speech. Must have been talking to our SMT.
  • To be fair, you want to see some of the stuff being posted on twitter, i am assuming by the OP as its called Boycott Welling. Its embarrassing and unhinged .FFS mate someone has blocked you, just laugh and live life. I am sure we have all been blocked by someone in the past, if we all reacted like a mentalist we would all be swimming in tears.

How is Goldburg treating the club? They were in a mess when he took over, had a bad start last season, realised he couldn't manage the team, got in Jamie Day and appeared to turn the corner. Jamie Day and co left for Gillingham and Welling survive.
This year look a lot stronger so far, got a good management team in and made some positive signings.
Trying to get planning to upgrade what is quite a run down ground.
Got new team sponsors in and kit suppliers.
Anyone who went yesterday would consider the team to be of a good standard for Conference South.

Got an open day on the 29th where anyone can come along and meet the players/chairman. Perhaps your "mate" may wish to come along and discuss his opinions with Mark? He is a very approachable bloke.
  • As for ticket prices being expensive, Welling probably factor this game in as part of their yearly budget. Do you really regrudge them that?
When they charge what appears to be extortionate prices and the players turn up in flash sports cars, I will agree with you.
Look around the place, do you not think they need every penny?

    Can't believe he wrote that.

Except instead of being blocked on social media, you'll be escorted out of the building for having an opinion by a guy with a fat neck & a Rob Elliot lookalike?
  • I once got blocked by Stan Collymore and also the blonde woman who was married to the bloke from Auf wiedersen pet , i only invited her on about 300 nandos dates. I should have created more accounts and gone full mentalist

I've seen that account but believe it or not I'm genuinely not behind it, also it's not exactly mentalist when it is a voice for Welling fans that have been turned away, many who do not use social media. Whether you agree or not, if you're content with your chairman interfering with team selection and policing social media like a North Korean regime then cool, that's your opinion. Speaking of social media, I'm more than happy to help people be aware of what your beloved team does to people that tweet factual information that local competitors are cheaper.
