Chelsea"s flops

I see Salah has signed for Liverpool for 34m. Yet another who didn't make it at Stamford Bridge, like Lukaku and De Bruyne.
They sure have wasted a lot of talent

Although it happens at otherbig teams (Piquet at MU spring to mind).....but more likely to happen at these ridiculous player farms like Chelsea.

It must be hard to sort the wheat from the chaff sometimes.

Happens everywhere doesn't it ? We've certainly let young players go who've gone on to show us that they were good enough (a lot of the time that's mainly due to Charlton's decline rather than their improvement!) - Michael Turner is one that springs to mind.

It also depends on your 'need' for players in the given position at the time.

Chelsea must have had a sell on clause when they sold him to Roma.

Juan Cuadrado was another one who "failed" at Chelsea recently

Salad is also not especially good. Typical Liverpool overpaying

Certainly £34 million for a plate of iceberg, tomatoes and a few spring onions seems excessive.

Probably what it costs to buy at Stamford Bridge on matchdays

didn't Barca take up the buy back clause that they agreed when they originally sold him to united?

Thing is Chelsea can point to that league champions trophy and say "so what?"

10% of any profit Roma made on him, so basically around 2m

Football is in danger of disappearing up it own arse given the way it's been run. Is there any limit, other than finances, to how many players a club can buy and then loan out.

The Premiership is massively overhyped and the constant churning of players makes it hard to identify with a team. Sick of all the talk of agents and contract negotiations.

Do you think its not actually disappeared up its own arse already?

It certainly does happen to every team but its enivtable with Chelsea. As they have had so many players, theres always going to be 1/2 who don't make it there but end up doing well.
Doubt they will care much about Salah as he wouldn't get in their team, but De Bruyne and Lukaku will hurt them, especially as they are looking to buy Lukaku back for a lot more than what they sold him for.

Turner wasn't a major mistake, as I agree, we wouldn't have really had a need for him had we been a mid-table Prem club when he had his best seasons.
Jordan Ibe is probably the worst mistake, but he was about 12 when he was released so a bit more understandable.

Disappeared up it's own arse the day Ashley Cole almost swerved off the road in disgust at being offered 'only' 55k a week

The football is now merely the sideshow for the transfer window(s)

    Cuadrado is another one.

Pogba left United for nothing - and then cost them almost £90m to buy him back!

refused to sign new contract though, so slightly different, but still one hell of a loss for United!
