Wouldn't have stopped Roland or owners of his like from buying clubs.
Competency to run a football club or the motives for owning a football club do not become clear until after the event.

It's still not enough. They need to also look at existing owners.

So there's loads of Football League clubs with owners running them into the ground and no one bats an eyelid.

But as soon as there's the potential for a dodgy deal in the Premier League they're all of a sudden going to start looking into it and review the rules?!

    Absolute bollocks.

I think we need to be realistic about these things. Roland and all the other bad owners of clubs own the clubs. No matter what rule changes are made there is no way the EFL or FA could ever force the sale of a club that the owner already has. Its sad but football is a business, no way we can force owners out. One rule change I do think they should and could make is preventing clubs getting into debt with other companies related to the owner/his or her family and friends. And making it so money can only go from their companies to the clubs and this money can't go back the other way

Will they affect current owners? No.
Can they affect current owners? Not if there aren't any buyers, otherwise you're forcing a club to have no ownership which would kill many clubs.

It's the PL reviewing their rules. They have no direct say over the EFL rules.
