The Regime - Who would be in the Best 11?

Does what it says on the tin.

Henderson
Fanni Bauer Texeira DaSilva?
Kashi
Gudmundsson Ajderavic Holmes
Bulot Vetokele

Probably a bit defensive minded, but I'd take it.

LB could well be the South Korean(?) guy we had on loan from QPR(?) at the end of one season, I remember him being pretty decent.

Otherwise there's the other guy who's name I can't remember, spent a tonne on him and paid his contract off when it turned out he was indeed "left-sided" but couldn't actually play any footballing positions on the left side. (EDIT: Bergditch - googled as it was annoying me)

If feel like this is some kind of PTSD where my brain is protecting me by erasing its memory.
  • DaSilva has bags of potential and looks very handy, but apart from roasting a few tired League 1 players at the end of the season he's not done a lot.

Haven't seen much of Da Silva, but doesn't have much competition at LB.

would probably put Magennis up top with Igor, but otherwise probably about right.

Ben Haim also had a good spell for us, possibly unlucky to miss out.
  • We haven't had enough managers to choose eleven of them. Try again at the end of the next season.

TBH a better player than the BFG.
  • We did this a while ago but I can't remember who I picked so....

    1. Henderson (but not last year's Henderson who was ropey).

    2. Motta 5. Fanni 6. Ben Haim 3. Da Silva

    7. Gudmonsson 8. Diarra 4. Kashi 11. Bulot

    9. Vetokele 10. Watt (not this year's Watt)

Bath tubs; Rudd, Tex, Bauer, Buyens, Holmes, Adjarevic, Magennis.

  • Henderson
    Fanni Ben Haim Tex Yun
    ...Coquelin...Diarra...Kashi
    JBG...Magennis....Igor

Yun gets in ahead of DaSilva because he played at a higher level. Coquelin and Diarra underrated brilliant signings.

Bench: Rudd, Bauer, Motta, Buyens, Bulot, Holmes, Ajderavic
  • some good players in amongst that lot ...just proves that things could have been so different with better management

Agreed. I think this regime has been responsible for bringing in some of the better players of the last decade. But we've never had the right combination at the right time with a manager good enough to do anything with them.

A broken clock is always right twice a day.
For every Gudmonsson there is a whole host of LePonts Tucadeans Cellebos Sarrs Kocs Negos etc etc etc
    Thanks Mowgli
  • Henderson

    Motta. Fanni. Tex. Chicksen

    Kashi

    JBG. Diarra. Holmes

    Igor. Magennis
  • Not sure about best 11, probably the least crap is better, but as most include Ajderavic it does really show just how crap they have been.

I like that team, would have loved seeing those players play in a team together, under a decent manager.

  • Henderson

    Fanni Texeira TBH Dasilva

    JBG Kashi Diarra Bulot

Igor Magennis (as Igor works best with a target man alongside him)

Subs Rudd, Motta, Pearce, Buyens, Holmes, Watt, Ajderavic

A bit lacking up front, as many of our biggest disappointments have been strikers

Igor and Makienok were superb together at Rotherham....but Igor and Watt were also very good together for that winning spell under Guy Luzon.
