Two Lovely Gestures

In light of the Old Firm Derby and all the other rubbish that happens within the game there have been two really good stories these last two days:

Firstly in Holland, Den Haag were away to Feyenoord in what is another big rivalry... the Den Haag fans were above the Home fans and in that area were child patients from a Rotterdam Hospital so they threw down hundreds of teddies for the kids (Something Charlton fans should be especially be proud of as they seem to be using the stress ball throwing technique).

Then secondly last night between Sunderland and Everton... Five year old Sunderland fan: Bradley Lowery (who has cancer) was mascot for the night... He needs £700k to afford the necessary treatment in the United States and was lovely to see when both sets of fans stood up to applaud his cause in the fifth minute of the match... Now Everton have donated £200k to help his cause so hopefully he reaches the target soon!!

The young lad already has £450k so Everton have pretty much made the balance up.

The teddy bear thing was just awesome.

There is hope in humanity :-)

You think they'd have made it £250.000!!

    Lovely gesture.
  • Absolutely amazing gesture from Everton.

Seen a few comments on Twitter or Facebook about why don't players or clubs make up the difference but it must be so difficult with the amount of requests they get from terminally ill fans.

Let's hope the little lad gets the treatment and makes a recovery.

Exactly... Sadly there are so many cases in the world these clubs despite having so many riches cant just open their coffers to aid every situation, be lovely if they could be sadly understandable why they dont / cant
  • Great gesture by Everton, good luck young Bradley.
  • sad news that Bradley has now passed away
