Under 18's updates

Charlton’s U18s began their season in winning fashion, claiming all three points from a 2-1 victory at Leeds United on Saturday.

  • Nice.  Are this lot meant to be good?  Sounds like it from those two wins in isolation.  Under 18’s would be 17yr olds right?  If so would have signed pro terms and cant walk for nowt?

    U18s includes u17s, so players either have or will turn 17 or 18 next birthday.

    They’ll all be on youth contracts, some will never get a pro deal. If an English club signs them we’ll get minimal compensation like we did for Kasey Palmer, see the EPPP page:

    I assume we get even less if they move abroad like Sarmiento did.

    My grandad said that about my brother when he scored 7 for Leyton Orient U13s. He was released 2 months later.

    Frank Bronco Burton was a famous player for the club in the 1920s

    I don't think Freddie Barton cuts it as a name in the 2020s.

    Frederico Barton-Monteque should do it.
