Just got home and not had a chance to read this thread. Ffs play Solly at right back. He ain't a left back. Our diamond formation for the first half hour was not working and we could have been3.0 down. On the positive side this side has plenty of character and as the game went on we become the better side. Williams when he came on showed that he will be class for us as long as he stays fit. Taylor is the man I just love him. Phillips never done anything wrong and playing the second half in front of 3 thousand Mackems showed that he has a great temperament. Morgan will play at a higher level one day,hopefully with us. Playoffs 100% gonna get there and if the likes of page Cullen and Clarke are fit we will win them. FUCK OFF ROLAND we are going up.
Taylor was superb today, but a big shout to Djicksteel - dropped in the deep end at a young age (in a Jordan Cousins styleeee) and getting on with it every week.

I like Dijksteel but see him more as a midfielder - steep learning curve as a defender. Think some of our fans are digging him out too much.
It was a terrific advert for League One in all honesty. Disapointed we didn't take some great chances to win it, but that was a match and a half, played by two decent sides.
Would have snatched your hand off for a draw before the game but somehow felt disappointed with a draw at the end.
First half started poorly but grew into it. By the end of it i would say it was pretty even and it was all us for the last 5 mins.
2nd half was bloody brilliant. Should have scored more but we were really on top of them. They had a couple chances but only on the break where we were really pushing for a second. They seemed happy with a draw from about 60 mins.
Was pretty negative about Pratley when I saw he was in the 11 but he had a pretty good game. Maybe he wasn't match fit the last couple and so has been harshly judged. Morgan looked good but when Jonny came on he looked a cut above.
Once again the miracle worker that is Bowyer somehow manages to keep getting results even with a much depleted squad. Couple of signings and a couple back from injury and I have high hopes.
Love seeing the valley fuller and the atmosphere was great!
For 35 minutes it looked like men against boys as Sunderland looked physically bigger, slicker, more skilful and faster in all that they did. The ease with which they clinically scored their goal after just a couple of minutes epitomised that period.
We stuck at it and soaked up the Sunderland pressure with Sarr in particular looking composed and assured. At this point Albie Morgan managed to get involved, having spent half an hour with the game having largely passed him by, and we started to look dangerous going forward whilst the Sunderland defence in their turn began to look uncomfortable having had half an hour plus of smoking the proverbial cigar with little or nothing to do.
Second half we came out as if we meant it and finally got our reward when Lyle Taylor broke down the right before putting in a wicked low cross which was deflected into his own net by a Sunderland defender under close attendance from Grant. Apart from the last few minutes and time added on it was largely one way traffic. Pratley headed narrowly wide, Grant couldn't quite wrap his left foot round the ball at the back post and the Sunderland keeper made a smart save from a Sarr back header were probably the pick of our chances.
Objectively a draw was a fair result even though there was a sense of disappointment we couldn't quite snatch the winner. However, as @Len\'s_little_girl said, in the first half it looked like we might lose by three or four so I'm pleased with the point. Hopefully we can win an away game or two to compensate.
A large crowd, 15K plus bums on seats I reckon, and we weren't allowed in the White Swan because it was full and The Bugle only had lager by the time we got served which was annoying. However on the plus side we had a glimpse of what could be if in actuality 'Roland's going home' as the Covered End Choir sung at various junctures.
Think we did enough to win it in the second half but would have taken a point before the game. Really good performance from us, special mention for Sarr who was again solid as a rock.
Forgot to mention that. Love big Nabs was exceptional. I'm not even sure I would have Pearce ahead of him right now. Naby is just so muxh better on the ball and quicker (or less slow).
The team looks to him to start moves off - He can do that playing left back I suppose, but he has earned a decent run in the side. I must admit, I like him at left back as I think having as much height in the side as you can helps with set pieces and he is a monster that occupies defences and helps other players get chances from them.
Two cracking through balls today, one of them had me drooling. He has that in his locker.

Thankfully after half - time the team came out and played with a much greater intensity getting the ball up front much quicker. The difference it made was obvious to all to see.
I still think automatic promotion is on but I just have a funny feeling that we are going to end up playing Sunderland in the play - off final at Wembley.
So 13,192 home fans. I would suggest that there were actually somewhere near that amount of home fans in the ground.
If there were 12,000 home fans there (and I'd say there were more than that). It's arguably double many of the actual home fan attendances in the last few seasons.
Also it's about 50% up on the actual bums on seats home attendances this season, where there's possibly been about 8,000.

I'd say viewing from the North Upper (which isn't the best place to judge). 6,000 in the North, 5,000 in the West, 2,000 in the East, plus 3,125 Mackems. So yes.

At the time I couldn't be sure so I played safe on the match thread and name-checked both the BFG and the Enforcer.
Just arrived back in Norfolk (did I beat you back Briston). My thoughts on the game. The crowd fantastic, even when we were one down. Maybe the prospect of seeing the back of Roland has given us all a lift. The team. Dillon was o.k. not sure he fills me with a lot confidence, but having a run of games he will improve. Dijksteel improved after a shaky start and Solly was, well Solly. Bauer looked strong while his C.B. mate Sarr was outstanding. His tackle to rob the Sunderland forward as he was breaking through was immense, he came out with the ball and joined the attack. He can certainly hit a good cross field pass. Enjoyed Morgan in midfield. He justified his place in the starting eleven. Fosu excites and frustrates as does Bielik. Bielik has tons of ability and reads the game well for a 22 year old but some times dwells on the ball and gets caught in possession. Pratley was busy without being spectacular. On another day Karlan would have scored but where has his fellow striking partner Taylor been hiding for recent years. Sunderland found him unplayable at times. As another poster said - probably our best striker since Kermorgant. Nice little cameo from Williams, he will prove to be a useful asset to the squad Overall the second half performance (forget the first half when we could have been a couple of goals down) was as good as any I've seen for a long time.
Superb game of football. Really enjoyed it. We're more than good enough to hold our own with the best in this league even with an injury-ravaged squad. Great stuff.
