Referee 8 - didn’t get much wrong except too lenient on some of their bookable challenges that went unpunished.the no 27 should have been off for two of four separate bookable offences only one of which was punished .
Phillips 7 - no chance with goal . Didn’t have a lot else to do as they were poor up front Wyke especially who I thought was surprisingly rubbish as a centre forward of a top of the league team . Distribution good from throw outs particularly.
Dijksteel 7 - absolutely shocking first half but stuck to it second half and vastly improved.
Bauer 7.5 - nothing too shaky and reliable without being flashy .
Sarr 8 - slow and ponderous at first but improved as the minutes passed . Loved that sliding tackle towards the end when he took the ball cleanly to snuff out an attack at source ,got up and coolly laid it off .
Solly 7 - I think that he was probably at fault for the goal but the whole team seemed ridiculously narrow and lacking in an outlet wide as a general issue .Two players in acres of space in his defensive area one of whom put it away . Good second half display quick committed and a leader
Morgan 7 - seemed to be neat and skilful first half without really achieving anything of any real note . Second half he was arguably man of the match with clever passing and much more going forwards rather than lateral lay offs . Promising .
Pratley 4 - clunker of a player . Passes went astray , let his opposite number get past him too often , rugged but agricultural type challenges . Missed a few decent chances and unfortunately looked like he was playing at his absolute limit . Don’t like the way that he runs and his arms flap about . Reminds me of an ungainly 12 year old on a school pitch in mid winter .
Bielik 7.5 - a number of loose passes first half and looked off the pace up to the tenth minute then gradually asserted himself . After the break he was dominant and totally in control of that midfield and made them look like mugs .
Fosu - first half 2 . Second half 8 . Overall 5 . Absolute cack for first 40!minutes then it all fell into place for rest of match . Live wire and very skilful . Seemed to find an extra yard of space and thought processes much better after the break . Before the break hopeless .
Grant 7 - frustrating match where you could see how good a player he is but things just didn’t come off for him today . Shame he couldn’t tuck that winner away at the far post .
Taylor 8 -the main man . Great effort and determination. An absolute handful for their defence who basically couldn’t cope with him especially the no 13 who looked like he was going to start crying second half as he had such a torrid time . That shot / cross towards the end was audacious and a bit over the top but if it had gone in what a goal that would have been .
Williams 7- good cameo . Showed some nice touches and pace . Glad he didn’t break his collar bone in that odd moment when their no 27 pushed him from behind - and should have been booked again but wasn’t -and he went cartwheeling through the air colliding with Fosu to win a free kick in a central area .
