On the week that abuse at football games has strongly come under the spotlight, some of our fans decide to boo a homegrown lad who didn't leave on bad terms.
There was a guy standing up near the fron in the North Lower. He was dropping c bombs to Wagstaff at every opportunity. I've asked him to stop booing our players previously. We have some right plonkers amongst our own.
Going against the grain here but who cares if he's one of our ex players. For 90 minutes he's an opposition player and if any of our fans want to give him stick or anything that might help to put him off his game and give us an advantage then so be it.

He was a respected player.
It's disrespectful to boo a player that always gave 100% and conducted himself like a gent upon being edged out of the club.

Doesn’t sit right with me. Scott was young player of the year in 2008 - same year J. Shelvey started.
He left on good terms. Spoke to him a few times, was a great lad, also spoke after his last game when he said it wasn’t down to him if he was offered a new contract.
Why boo? What has he done wrong other than plying his career with another team?

I didn't say he wasn't a respected player. I'm guessing the boos were because of his part in the sending off and fans who assumed (also not helped by a tweet from the clubs own official twitter) that he got Sarr sent off?

This. His reaction after the Sarr challenge was OTT and a few people around us weren’t impressed with it (understandable IMHO). Don’t get the booing but understand why people may have been a little peeved following his behaviour at some points today.

The lad was 8 when he joined us and went on to break into the first team at Oakwell - if any player deserves a case for 'one of our own' it's Waggy.

A real 100% player who always gave of his best and, as someone above has also said, brought the best out of Solly too with his industry.
If I had been able to be there I would have applauded him off.
