A first for NZ rugby

Forget the All Blacks. Black Fern Kendra Cocksedge became the first woman in NZ rugby history to take out NZ Rugby's top player award beating out Brodie Retallick, Richie Mo'unga and Codie Taylor. The 47 Test Black Fern and Canterbury half back became the first woman to be named the Kel Tremain Memorial Player of the Year.

Kendra joins an impressive list of previous winners - Sam Whitelock, Beauden Barrett, Ma'a Nonu, Retallick, Kieran Read and Richie McCaw.
