If everyone is fit (ha ha) what’sour best 11?

edited December 2018 in General Charlton
Probably been done, if so sorry, but on the evidence of what we have seen so far this season, what’s our best starting 11? Not on reputation, just what we’ve seen.

For me;

Steer
Solly
Pearce
Bauer
Page
Cullen
Aribo
Reeves
Ward
Taylor
Grant.

A fit and fully recovered Clarke and Fosu with his head removed from his arse would be in there ahead if Reeves and Grant respectively for me but neither seems very likely. Page has been a huge miss as has Cullen. I’d also like to force Bielik in there somewhere but can’t.

I don't think you can leave Forster-Caskey out of the starting 11.

    I'd go 3-5-2

    Steer

    Bilek, Pearce, Bauer

    Forster-Caskey, Cullen

    Ward, Clarke, Fosu

    Taylor, Grant

No idea if it would work though!

While RD is there any 11 can soon go sour

I'll wait until after the transfer window before picking my best eleven.
Some of these players will probably not be here then.

It isn't just everybody being fit but on form too. I mean Fosu is in our best eleven without a doubt although at the moment, he is not playing well enough.

Bowyer, Jackson and Peacock would definitely be in.

Three of those aren't our players! When everyone is fit, they won't be here any longer....

    What’s our best team?
Guess we’ll find that out tonight!

Probably, but then we probably wouldn't have Cullen if JFC hadn't been injured.

As for your team, you seem to have no wing backs at all!

Might not be our best 11 in terms of skill, but in terms of effort and output it has to be up there.

're the wingbacks, I was thinking JFC and Cullen can play along the lines of when we had Kish and Smertin in the same team who pulled wide to cover the fullback position when pushed further up. Also Ward and Fosu can track back in that formation but that will require discipline from Fosu.

As for the Cullen / JFC conundrum, that wasn't the question!

Still I'm no football coach and maybe it's all a bit too playstation for reality.

Almost the same as Red Robin but I’d have Reeves in the eleven instead of JFC. Cullen, JFC and Aribo doesn’t have enough creativity between them.

    Steer

    Bielik Pearce Bauer

    Solly Cullen Reeves Aribo Page

    Grant Taylor

Bench: Phillips, Dijksteel, Sarr, JFC, Clarke, Fosu, Vetokele

It’s a tough question, like bowyer said in his dig at Robbo, every game is different, so I’ll go with this:

    Winnable game against strugglers;

    Steer
    Solly, Bauer, Pearce, Page
    Cullen
    Aribo, JFC
    Fosu
    Taylor, Clarke

    Dogged away match that we’d take a point;

    Steer
    Solly, Bauer, Bielik, Pearce, Page
    Aribo, Cullen, JFC
    Taylor, Grant

I'd love to know when Reeves last made a goal. I'm sure someone will tell me it was last week, but I don't recall defence splitting passes.

    Pope
    Francis Gomez Pearce Bauer Wiggins
    Gudmunssen Stevens Forster-Caskey
    Taylor Lookman

Subs Amos/Steer Grant Aribo Page Konsa Cullen Cousins.

Playing two Wing backs in a 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 depending on state of play.

With Pope Francis we would be Blessed.
