I'm sure Bowyer had nothing to do with the prices. Despite beating Bristol Rovers and Burton, we were a bit off our best. I'm sure that was an influence. A win next week will further cement our place in the play off places and set us up to look higher!
I thought the FA had something to do with the minimum that teams could charge for Cup ties now as we always used to charge £10
Reasonably entertaining game. Maloney had a few intelligent touches first half, but faded a bit second. Marshall did play well. Dillon made a few top saves and their keeper a world class one from a header. Reeco showed glimpses first half. Good to see Billy Clarke back. Reeves a bit ponderous. Overall not too bad from the youngsters against their first team.
Disappointing to lose, but would sooner all key players are fit for the promotion challenge. Injuries are a massive problem, eg 2 collar bone broken in one game at Walsall. Can't be too harsh on Bowyer imo, especially if the rumour is true that Roly will give him some money in Jan to spend if they are in contention for promotion.
I was at the game today and as soon as I saw the team Bowyer had picked it was obvious that we would lose. Was this team selection justified ?. I'll answer that at 5pm next Saturday.
I'm going to Blackpool next week and if we pick up 3 points I will have no complaints over today s performance. Anything less than 3 points next Saturday means today was an opportunity lost.

Bowyer can go f### himself if that's his attitude. That's just a kick in the bollox for the fans who have been nothing but supportive of him since his first game in charge.

IF we don't get promotion, then it's yet another wasted season .. there is no excuse for picking such a weak team, none at all .. A pretty low quality game with a very predictable outcome. As soon as the team was announced, it felt that we were highly likely to draw a blank although, ironically, we could have had a few goals at the end, with Hackett-Fairchild and Stevenson missing gilt-edged chances and Donny’s keeper pulling off an outstanding save from a bullet header.
A pretty lifeless first half, which Doncaster started and finished well, without mustering a single effort on target. Charlton had a few good moments - mainly from Mark Marshall’s forays down the right - but we looked predictably lightweight in midfield and up front.
The first goal was unfortunate, as Marshall’s chest block of a fairly tame header following a corner only served to deflect the ball past Dillon Phillips, who was right behind him. The second goal - just after we’d missed a great chance - came from a header back across goal from a free kick, which their guy nodded in from practically on the line.
That effectively decided the game, although we had some good chances towards the end, as did they, with Dillon making a couple of decent saves.
I thought that Mark Marshall was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch and I think that’s the best I’ve seen him play for us. His attitude was also tremendous and I really hope that he’s put himself into contention if Bowyer ever decides to depart from the diamond formation.Naby and Anfernee Dijksteel were solid at the back, although Toby Stevenson struggled throughout and is not ready for football at this level.
In midfield, Taylor Maloney also looked a little out of his depth, Reeves was poor and rusty and Clarke is obviously playing his way back after a long lay off. Up front, Hackett-Fairchild showed some nice touches but lacks physicality and missed an excellent chance following another great run and cross from Marshall. Ajose was, to no one’s great surprise, anonymous.
Doncaster - who had their full team out - were pretty poor but they had enough experience to see the game out.
Not great but at least Lee Bowyer will be happy now we can, in the time honoured Charlton manner, concentrate on the league.
I was livid with that team selection, still am to be honest. Its only the 2nd extra game we have had to play, the only way we could have played less was to loose the 1st round game.
We don't have a "small squad" by league 1 standards. What we do have is a number of pros in their 20s and 30s that Bowyer won't play unless he really has to. They know they won't play, unless there is no one else, as well as we do. Thats why we have so many injuries and can't play 3 games in 8 days.
If he had made 5 or 6 changes and put 3 or 4 of them on the bench I don't think anyone would have minded. Even if we had lost.
It's an insult to the fans, the FA Cup and some of the players. How many of our players have played at Old Trafford, Annfield etc. If I was a Charlton player I would be hacked off today, either because that chance was denied or I was forced to play in a game the manager wanted to loose.

Prize money in the FA Cup is better & the money gained might dissuade Duchatelet from selling one of better players & replacing them with a crapper one as per usual in the January window but there are no guarantees there. Charlton have a small squad & if Charlton can get points over the next few weeks in important league games & avoid injury of the main squad then In Bowyer & Jackson I trust to make the calls.
Can't agree with their selection - too many inexperienced players and those returning from injury. There was no way this side would be competitive.

The average revenue after VAT is likely to be about £9 per ticket allowing for concessions.
The prize money for winning today meanwhile was £54,000 - obviously Charlton didn’t see that as a priority.
If your going to treat the fa cup like the checkatrade trophy then charge checkatrade trophy prices. Understand reasons why bowyer did it but still unhappy

We did have some rare periods of pressure when we moved the ball sharply but too often moves broke down on Reeves, who needed multiple touches. He's just back from injury in his defence.

Brought my 3 and a half year old to his second game and second defeat in the hope he would see us score some and be a bit exciting for him. Only for us to be sitting there like absolute lemons bored out of our head. Shit show Bowyer. You better fucking beat Blackpool on Saturday to make up for it.
