The Real Ale Way, Hayes (Bromley) - new micropub

Found myself waiting for a train in Hayes this evening. I highly recommend this place for any ale lovers here, a brand new micro pub specialising in Kent ales (plus other Kentish drinks), opposite the station

Yeah, but this pub is actually in Kent. Not East London.
That would be funny if it were true but it’s not.

You see the one with the big sweaty fat lump behind a glass security screen? That’ll be the taxi office

Thing is, who ever has the need to go to Hayes?
Rather an out of the way place is Hayes.

Not if you live somewhere like, say, Hayes?

I looked at buying a house in Hayesford Lane, Hayes but decided giving my name and address would be too stressful.

Same reason the star of Callan didn't by that house in Wood Lane, Woodford.

That was the idea. Glad it's still working and keeping the riff-raff away.

It's not a very imaginative name, not as good as One in the Wood or that one in Eltham

I have been to hayes a for few times, but usually it means I have fallen asleep on the train and woken at the last stop.

At least it isn’t Hayes in Middlesex close to Uxbridge where I once had the misfortune of living.

Perhaps that's why it's a micropub, rather than, say, a pub?
