Reads like a 442 with a diamond midfield of Bielik sitting behind Lapslie and Pratley and Aribo ahead of that, but could also be a back 3 with Page and Solly as wingbacks

    Phillips
    Solly Bauer Sarr Page
    Bielik
    Pratley Lapslie
    Aribo
    Taylor Grant

    Or

    Phillips
    Bauer Sarr Bielik
    Solly Lapslie Pratley Page
    Aribo
    Taylor Grant

There isn't much natural width in the line -up, so I'm guessing we'll use wingbacks

3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 with Lapslie behind the strikers

Yep, good call for the diamond, Sam.

Happy with that - and seven subs! COYR.

Such a petty complaint but I really wish they wouldn't list the line-up in number order. It took me ages to realise Naby was at the back. I know that the problem there is me being an idiot, but have mercy comms team.

Two of the subs must have offered to drive

Taylor to score again today? Feeling positive we can put the mighty Accrington to the sword...

Imagine we'll switch between 3-5-2 and 4-1-2-1-2 depending on how it's going. Quite happy with that.

Yep, irritates me too. Evidently intended to give no positional information to opponents. And Charlton supporters.

3 at the back and solly/page as wide midfielders? Interesting change if it is that.

In a side note, it shows how conditioned we are by the Roland ownership model that we're celebrating naming seven subs rather than worrying about the fact four of them are academy players being pushed up to the main squad to cover massive squad gaps. It wasn't that long ago there would be debates about whether certain players decided to start over others; feels a long way away now

I think the whole 'naming 5 subs instead of 7' is childish anyway.

On the formation, the OS says:

"The team news in full sees Dillon Phillips begin the match in goal. Bielik, Patrick Bauer and Naby Sarr make up the back three, with Lewis Page and captain Chris Solly flanking them in the wing-back positions.

Darren Pratley, Joe Aribo and George Lapslie are the Addicks’ midfield trio and, up front, last week’s goalscorers Lyle Taylor and Karlan Grant lead the line."

Imagine we'll start 0-0, move to 1-0 and then 2-0, before being pegged back to 2-1 for nervy last five minutes.

    Quite happy with that.
