    25% chance. Simple as that.

Not really as only have to win 2 games in theory so higher than a 25% chance.
Same for everyone else though. Technically three draws could be enough.

    25% chance. Simple as that.

It's not a 25% chance. It's not like drawing one raffle ticket from four in a hat.
The bookies won't have all teams on equal odds.
  • No. If we do I'll be ecstatic, if we don't we'll still have finished better than I expected at the start of the season, and hopefully with more reasons to be positive long term.

Might as well be. For what it's worth, best odds available roughly have:

    Rotherham: 30%
    Charlton: 25%
    Scunthorpe: 23%
    Shrewsbury: 22%

Why Rotherham are the slightly favourites and Shrewsbury the outsiders, especially given League positions, I'm not sure.

His opinion doesn't count for anything.

Shay Given's the man to listen to.

Bookies' odds are determined by other factors besides the teams' relative chances, like how much money is being staked on each team.

I think 1 in 4 for each of the teams is near enough in this case.

What are the bookies offering, then?

    Rotherham 9/4
    Charlton 3/1
    Scunthorpe 100/30
    Shrewsbury 7/2

  • Don't know if anyone else has noticed but that is also the exact chronological order each team were last in the championship (or English second tier for pedants)

The bookies make a book based on what their specialist think, and then the odds change as people place bets. Someone has given the current odds above. I’m happy to have taken 16/1 when we were in a slump.

Maybe they are four equal-ish teams, and it all depends who performs on the day. But I think if Bowyer has them fired up we have a slightly better than 25% chance personally. 35 or even 40% maybe?
  • Bowyer fucked it up tonight !

I fear he could fuck it up I the playoffs. Any manager who lets Kaikai anywhere near his first team, is completely of his fecking trolley !

So you James you think he warrants a first team place , in any charlton team ?
  • Palatial Wembley = Charlton win, but will they get that far???? Its all in the balance. Come on you Reds.
  • All depends on Thursday, a good solid 2 0 win will result in a Wembley match where we'd win (fingers and toes crossed)

    Is that a crossword clue?

Personally... Yes. If it means our actual form/quality players don't go into a much tougher and more significant match carrying fatigue/injuries then by all means he should be playing.
  • 15/1 at the start of the season. Wish I'd had the balls to put more than £1 on it!

We need his goals and his ingenuity, not to mention his familial good looks!
  • If Fosu plays, then yes.
  • If Fosu plays, then yes.

    This.
    Fosu makes all the difference
  • I'm worried about our fire power. I thought for a couple of games that Zyro might be the answer - he scored more goals per minute than our other options, and looked to be decent, and improving. But after his last few performances it seems he isn't.

That leaves dear old Josh, who we know will try hard, and Ajose who is still something of an enigma. Neither are what you would call prolific.

I guess it's a great opportunity for them to put their partnership properly on the map. Let's hope they rise to the occasion(s).

Wow some people have a very simple sad life. One second after posting and due to an unfortunate auto spell check there are hundreds of train spotters jumping on it! Hahah!

Never spotted a train, not simple, not sad. It’s called piss taking which is much better when received with less sensitivity. Haha.
As for the play offs, I think we’ll WIN them.
