Its a shame that Kai Tak isnt in use anymore... Would love to see planes flying in to land there...

That was one hell of an airport to land/take off at.

I hadn’t considered that. I think maybe I ought to take the first 58 mins and he can have the last 2.

I will be in The Ratcliffe Arms (adjacent to the ground) with Addickted & el-pietro from 4.00pm until kickoff.

It was great that you could see what was on TV as you flew past people’s apartments.

First time I went there, there was the tail fin of a Chinese plane sticking out of the bay alongside the runway.

It just so happens that I have @el-pietro ‘s match tickets, so that works out very well.

On our way to Denmark from NZ in June, we've got 40 hours in Hong Kong. Staying at Novotel Citygate, near the airport.
On the way back to Auckland, we've also got 40 hours, staying at the same hotel.
Without making it too stressful, I guess we can do one outing, while we stay there in June and then another outing, on our way back in July.
If there are two things so see, what would they be? Big Buddha? Central Hong Kong? Where in Central Hong Kong?
Any must see thing, which the kids will enjoy too, when we're there for such a short time?

@Danepak don't know if you've already been and gone. But just to say re: "What to do in Central?" ...

Tai Kwun cultural heritage centre has just opened up. They've been working on it for years. From what I hear it's very good. Can get a tour of old Victoria police station, and there's performances every afternoon. And other things I don't know about.

It'll be very popular so have to reserve in advance.

    Thanks.
Haven't gone yet. Leaving 22nd. Not sure if we make it to Central HK this time. Maybe on the way back. Really depends how knackered the kids are.

A boat trip to Lamma Island is quite nice with plenty of places for refreshments when you arrive.
