    Sorry, but "all time"?

Well Sky pretends football started in 1992
It does but we don't have to agree.

Is this our favourite eleven or all time players in our lifetime.

I know I wasnt around yet for Bartram / Peacock to not be in anyone's all time top 10 is strange really

Based on players that I've actually seen wear the shirt, just their Charlton careers alone and the impact they had on the club whichever level we were at at the time.

    Kiely
    Rufus
    Powell
    Parker
    Kinsella
    Jensen
    Jackson
    Bent
    Kermorgant
    Mendonca

Hard to judge since I have only been a Charlton fan since the mid 90s.

If we are talking personal favourites then mine would be:

    Chris Powell
    Steve Brown
    Sasa Ilic
    Clive Mendonca
    John Robinson
    Mark Kinsella
    Dean Kiely
    Johnnie Jackson
    Yann Kermorgant
    Darren Bent

    Honourable mention to Radostin Kishishev.

Started going in 1996, my top 10:

    Kiely
    Young
    Powell
    Rufus
Costa - albeit briefly his class was obvious
    Kinsella
    Parker
    Jensen
    Bent
    Bartlett

Chuck in a someone like Graham Stuart and that’s a top 8 team. I’m talking top 8 prem not bloody league 1, how far we have fallen

In your lifetime is fine but that's not all time.

Otherwise May is in the "All time" prime ministers because we weren't alive for Churchill or Attlee.

Just as well the Charlton Hall of Fame has votes for players in three eras: pre 1950, 50 to 80, 81 to 2013 (five year qualifying period)

Not always the best, but definitely my favourites ... and not exactly a top 10, more a first team squad:

    1. D Kiely

    2. J Humphrey (all-time favourite)
    5. R Rufus
    6. S Balmer
    3. C Powell

    7. C Jensen
    4. R Kishishev (second fav)
    8. M Kinsella
    11. P Mortimer

    9. C Leaburn
    10. C Mendonca

    Subs:
    12. S Brown (he won't let you down)
    13. B Bolder
    14. S Minto
    15. J Robinson
    16. J Melrose

Edit: although my first Charlton match was 14 Feb 1981 I didn't start going regularly until the mid-80s, hence no Killer etc.

My favorite player of all time was Stuart Leary but, after that, the names above are in no particular order.

Would'nt disagree much with this list apart from maybe including John Hewie.

Favourite or best as there is quite a distinction between the two?

    Shirtliff
    C. Walsh
    Brown
    John's
    Leaburn
    Powell
Bartram (never saw but the legend alone and how people have waxed lyrical will do for me).

    Ability
    Di Canio
    Parker
    Rufus
    D Bent
    P Walsh
    Kinsella
    Simonsen
    Humphrey
    Mendonca
    Jeppson (again record speaks volumes).
Kiely - does make 11 but couldn't leave him out.

And already thought of 3 I've missed, either brilliant memories or getting old!

Really hard to do a "best" list as opposed to a "favourite" list

What about players you didn't see?
What league were we playing in - Killer never played in the 1st division for us, whereas Firmani and (for some of the time) Leary did?
Is a top player with us for a short time (Costa) better than a lesser player who was with us for over 10 years (e.g. Brown)

Bearing this in mind, and restricting myself to players I've seen

    Bolder
    Rufus
    Johnnie Robinson
    Parker
    Robert Lee
    Hales
    Jensen
    Kinsella
    Mendonca
    Minto

Only players I’ve seen. All could succeed at the highest level.

    Charlie Wright
    Mike Bailey
    Eddie Firmani
    Billy Bonds
    Richard Rufus
    Lee Bowyer
    Chris Powell
    Killer
    Scottie Parker
    Mark Kinsella
    Clive Mendonca

Players I’ve seen play top 10 - I’ve also gone on the basis of 50 + games

    Shirtliff (all time favourite)
    Rufus
    Thompson
    Parker
    Kinsella
    Mortimer
    Mendonca
    D Bent
    Kermorgant
    Bowyer

    Of the ones I’ve seen:

    Alan Simonsen
    Paolo Di Canio
    Jorge Costa
    Darren Bent
    Eddie Firmani
    John Hewie
Johnny Haynes (1 appearance in a friendly)
    Scott Parker
    Claus Jensen
    Mike Bailey

I was too young to appreciate how good Stuart Leary and Johnny Summers were so I’ve left them out.
