Kermorgant, Solly, Wiggins, Morrison, Jackson, Wright-Phillips, Stephens - all players that Powell made regulars in the side and got the best out of.
Hard to understand how watching those names play regularly in a Charlton shirt wasn't 'entertaining'. What exactly are you expecting when you follow a small club like ours'?

I wish him well and have no doubt he’ll do well. In fact I hope he does, some people on here and elsewhere have very short memories about what amazing success he was for us, quite embarrassing some of the comments to be honest.
So true & it amazes me that people are negative about him - The Powell years were an incredible time & the last time I felt a connection between the staff/players & the fans - would welcome him back as our manager in a heartbeat & I couldnt give a flyng f*ck what formation he plays.
Just understand that there are some of us who think those years were very special, and that Chris Powell is an amazing person who did incredible things for this club, but we (I) also don't think that that can be repeated, at least not now. And bringing him back does not automatically revert things to January 2014. That's not how football (or time) work.

I've got an idea. You and the President can 'move on' (part of which could involve not opening threads about Chris Powell) whilst some of us will continue to take an interest in Chris's career.

If that’s taking an interest in how Southend do now because of Powell being in charge, then great. Because it is natural to take an interest in a small part of a bigger game that you love.
Powell made us have our most successful period we have had for a long time - the affinity he holds with the club, the connection and the love he shares with the club cannot be doubted. It’s good to see him do well and if that means we take an interest in his career and keep an eye out for Southend’s results, so be it.
If we can’t do that in football, taking an interest in other aspects of the game that we are so passionate about, instead of solely focused around our club, then I find that very sad and quite boring.
We are losing the game for the supporters as it once was. And with how the modern game is progressing, let’s not further take away the connection that we do still have.
Powell is one of the greatest men to have been involved in Charlton. I am proud of him and want to follow his career. Why do some people think there is something wrong with that. I also follow the careers of Curbs, Gomez, Shelvey, Stephens, Pope, Morrison, Kemogant, Elliot etc. Am I weird? Anyway there is no-one like Powell, a a magnificent player . a magnificent manager but even more importantly a superb human being.
