One of my mates went, it was pre-recorded on 29th November, in the studios near Bearsted, in fact it is in a big marquee, also The Beat had to do their song twice as lead singer forgot the words.

Always wondered why Vic Reeves and his missus were on its smashed out of their box each year.
They live up the road at Lenham I believe
Was in Maidstone in Oct 2016, my son was there.

Watching this on iplayer. Trombone Shorty was great, especially his version of Ernie K Doe's Here Come The Girls.

I'm afraid The Beat's Dave Wakeling's aging voice doesn't sound right any more and Jose Feliciano doesnt look great!

    Generally a good show though.

Just find his mannerisms quite pompous when i've watched him on TV.

Didn't realise you needed evidence for an opinion....

You not been on here long then? @Henry Irving demands it!
Look, of course you are entitled to your opinion and you may not like him but the word "Pompous" really shook me. I cannot see Jools as pompous, ever.

I always assumed that the programs were live. Was the one on BBC1 live with Chic?

I've been to 2 recordings of his show (not the NYE one) and I have to say that you may not like him, but he doesn't come across as pompous in my humble opinion. There are some notorious arseholes in entertainment, the biggest one being Chris Evans, of course (allegedly).

I like JH, I think he tries to introduce new talented acts to the UK music scene, notably Seasick Steve.
However I understand that to even get a sniff of getting on his regular show the acts have to stump up 10k.
Im not saying that JH gets that money, but that appears to be the rate (er Allegedly)
