Britains Greatest Pilot - Captain Eric 'Winkle' Brown

Sorry to bang on about BBC4 but just watched a programme on the life story of Eric Brown, a Scottish pilot who broke all flying records from being sunk on HMS Audacity protecting the convoys during WWII, through working out how to defeat the V1s and flying capture ME263s, to being our leading test pilot, trying to break the sound barrier and landing the first jet on an aircraft carrier.

A humble man who has broken so many flying records that are unlikely to be broken a fecking brave man and one of those innovators that have made Britain great.

Fascinating programme and well worth watching on catch up.
