Always sit down to watch The Polar Express after we put the tree and dec's up (usually with a Baileys or 5)

Definitely the best Christmas film - watched in our house on Christmas Eve every year - guaranteed to make me laugh throughout

The Italian Job or The Great Escape.

A movie shown at Christmas on TV does not necessarily mean it's a Christmas movie. I wouldn't class either of these as Christmas movies.

I personally like Elf & The Grinch.

First of all, Merry Christmas to all!

No we're well into the festive period, it got me wondering what everyone's favourite Christmas film is?

I'll start with National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

    Over to you

    Ho Ho Ho

The Day I killed Christmas, Santa and Everyone Else who mentions Christmas.

    Is my favourite.
Snow White on the rowing machine

    Elf sucks balls.

Scrooged and It’s a wonderful life the best.

Deserves an instant ban for a comment like that.

Elf taught us the 4 food groups
    1: Candy
    2: Candy Canes
    3: Candy Corn
    4: Syrup
Anything with Will Ferrell sucks balls in fact.

Will Ferrell is a really nice guy, and his serious or nuanced stuff is really bloody good. And I get why people like Elf in a cult comedy type of way. But to me, like most of his comedies, Elf is inane crap. He doesn’t do set ups and punchlines, he does gibberish and silly stuff. Funny to some, but best Xmas movie? Fuck that. Ferrell has absolutely nothing on Chevy Chase.

Can’t see it mentioned but can I give a shout out to War Game which is an animation about the Christmas Day WW1 football game many of you will know of. I watch it with my students every year and they’re often moved by it, which with today’s generation is pretty rare.

The Ice Harvest gets a spin most Christmases 'round ours. Not one for the pre-teens however.

That and It's A Wonderful LIfe.
