As a wild guess I'd say they probably looked at the age bands for the season ticket holders when Roland took over and realised a lot of us were either about to turn 60 or were close to turning 60 and the revenue was going to take a hit unless they raised the threshold to 65. It may be something unique to Charlton to do with the years away from the Valley where we lost a generation of new fans for those years, in which case we should probably almost be back to a point where the impact is no longer so dramatic and 60 can be the threshold once again.

Me to, but more than compensated by a senior railcard.
Raising the concessionary age to 65 to generate more income would have paid dividends if the rest of the mad old fools plan had not alienated half the existing ST holders not to mention walk ups.

I'm 60 this year, I'm looking forward to saving a few quid on my shiny new season ticket once they've gone. In fact, I'll buy two and save twice as much.
