Rochester seems to be the shout which boozer has morning KO in?

The Crown at the Strood end of the high street will have the early kick off, you will see it as you cross the bridge over the Medway out of the right side of the train. It's a couple of minutes from the new Rochester station. The City Wall will also have it, that's closer to the station and is next door to the Eagle. Rochester Bar is between the Crown and the city wall and is massive now, you shouldn't queue for a drink there. For anyone not too bothered about the early kick off the 2 brewers is a shepherd neame pub opposite the city wall and tiny, you'll get a choice of beer in there but the bar staff are pricks and will see it as punishment to serve you as they are used to only having 10 people in there all in their favourite seats.

Also not far from the station you have a sort of trinity of pubs. The Jolly Knight will have the football on and is one of my favourites, it shares toilets with Ye Arrow which is more roomy, has some smoking hot barmaids and a really nice back yard that is overlooked by Rochester castle. Wedged on the side of those 2 is the Kings Head which I personally think is shit, takes ages to get a drink, poxy layout and expensive.

The weatherspoons is down the other end of the high street and well, it's a Wetherspoons you either like them or you don't and I don't.

The Queen Charlotte is about 15 paces down from Weatherspoons if it is open it normally has the football on, it used to have strippers in the cellar bar downstairs for a bit of wet nose but the tosser who owns the Casino nightclub ruined that fun by opening a strip bar of that and doubling the price so no more strippers at the Charlotte. Oliver's bar is almost opposite the Charlotte I doubt that will be open at that time of day, it's one of those bars that looks pretty but the layout is dreadful. Do decent food though apparently.

There are a couple of pubs I've missed off but I've given you a fairly decent and honest locals guide to having a skimish in Rochester high street.

Those that hang about for a bit afterwards could try the micropubs which are very close to the old Rochester station. The flippin frog is my favourite, tiny little place on the elevated section of the bit of road that links Chatham and Rochester high streets. The Northern Seaman is opposite one gay pub and next door to another. All three are decent places to have a drink and a reacharound.

Moving into Chatham you aren't spoiled for choice, The Prince of Wales has always been a shit pub trying everything it can to not be a shit pub, it's ok but a lot of the local shitcunts will be in there, the new weatherspoons opposite that is actually a decent pub. They enforce a strict no tracksuit policy and are trying their hardest to keep the shittier elements of Medway out. If you go outside for a smoke you will get accosted by local celebrity beggar Billy the quid. He is one to avoid and tell to fuck off.

For those really stringing out the day in Medway, The Command House is another place that used to house pound in a pint strippers in the basement and was always a sqauddie pub, it's had some money spent on it and is a lot nicer to look at now. Only been in there a ha drink of times since it's been done up and had decent quality lager and the door had been replaced on the shitter.

Stretching beyond now and heading the long way towards Gillingham towards the dockyard Ship & Trades is a nice place to go now I'm in my 30's however I thought it was full of ponces when it first opened. Says more about me than the establishment which is bloody expensive for a beer is pretty nice and has nice seating areas on the Medway basin where you can take your mind off the price of a pint by looking at the boats resting in the marina. Before being annoyed by the massive shadow cast over what used to be a suntrap by the big tower block that went up.

Me, I'm going to be a few thousand miles away on holiday so the local watering holes will appreciate he income in my absence
    - "No tracksuit policy" and "Billy the Quid!" Got to be Gillingham away.
