Blackburn are looking like the team to beat.

Hot on the heels of the signing of Bradley Dack, the 25-year-old joins on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Blackburn have signed Peter Whittingham, Richie Smallwood and Dack this summer following relegation to Sky Bet League One.

  • George Saville and Jed Wallace made the switch from Wolves to relegation favourites, Millwall.

The Championship fodder also look set to sign Conor Mclaughlin from Fleetwood.

Being reported as £20m, is he really worth that? Soccerbase says he's made 35 league starts in his career.

They've also signed Defoe on 3 year contract, a long deal considering his age.
  • That's 2 players bought from Chelsea, Begovic and now Ake, are Chelsea Bournemouth's feeder club

Ake really made a difference for Bournemouth last season. I bet Chelsea have a buy back clause though
  • Love this taken from Sky Sports...

    JOSH ROBINSON: THE CURIOUS CASE

More on the story we brought you earlier... Ex-York defender Josh Robinson is at the centre of a bizarre tug of war between Belfast rivals Linfield and Crusaders after both Irish League clubs claimed he had joined them on Thursday night.

SSNHQ understand Robinson trained with Crusaders on Tuesday night and Linfield last night.

Robinson had a year left on his York City contract before both City & Robinson mutually agreed to his release.

Crusaders claim their pre-contract was dated June 29, the same date York announced his release. However, we understand Robinson's last official day at York City is today, meaning the date on the pre-contract suggests he technically signed it when he had more than six months left on his contract at York.

A York City spokesperson has told SSNHQ: "I can confirm that Josh has been released from York City by mutual consent. We are not sure which club he has subsequently joined so, to be on the safe side, we'll take the 'don't know' option!"
  • Bournemouth have made 3 great signings in Begovic, Ake and Defoe. They need to get themselves a marquee central midfield and central defence signings and they'll have an incredible spine to their team.

Maybe not ready yet but Lewis Cook is a very good young player.
  • Wolves about to sign Ruben Neves for club record £18m...
  • Wolves about to sign Ruben Neves for club record £18m...

Bloody heck that would be an awesome signing
  • Why the fuck would a 20 year old playing regularly for Porto and already played for the senior Portugal team want to move to Wolverhampton, and play in the second tier of English football?
    Beggars belief

Erm, money. Football is now just a mercenary business. A player will sign for whomever is offering the most financially.
  • My dads a wolves fan and they are owned by a rich chinese company who have employed one of portugals biggest agents to work on their behalf and recruit players, he has a strong link with porto.
  • I always think it's slightly dangerous to hype a keeper from a relegated team - they're bound to have a great goals to saves percentage because they've spent the last 9 months in the football equivalent of a coconut shy. Scott Carson springs to mind, who was decent don't get me wrong, but not the English Manuel Neuer.

Carson is the best keeper we have had since Deano, and maybe even before... Completely invalidates your point

I follow Wolves a little here and there. It's a done deal.

What a shock signing. He has a £36M buyout clause but will move for £18-20M even though Chelsea has a higher offer out there. Stunning.

  • Problem with signing a guy like that is will he be too good for the rest of the team.

Cavaliero and Costa are already PL quality. The rest of the team, yeah, very mundane Championship squad. But frankly, their view is "who cares." Wolves might well go up because of this and if they do, those subpar players are gone anyway.
  • FOSUN, the owner of Wolves since this time last year, may have stumbled onto a good way to get promoted....

    1. Blow the budget out entirely. The two most expensive signing in the history of The Championship are by Wolves in the last 3 months.. Costa and Neves.

    2. Screw FFP loss limits. Since transfer fees are amortized over 3 years, you don't get nailed til year 3.

    3. Get promoted by having a PL-ready squad, which is basically like playing men above children in the Championship.

    4. If you do get promoted in the 3 years, you get an extra $150,000,0000 per season of turnover and your FFP financial problems are solved. Also, you don't have to worry about losing the likes of Cavaliero, Costa and Neves because they join you in the PL.

    5. If you don't get promoted, you sell the Big 3 players for huge profits, actually become hugely profitable in year 3, solving your FFP issues and then reload all over again. Repeat.

Easy to say and do on here, but fact is things never really turn out that way in reality.
  • George Boyd has signed for Sheff Weds, free transfer.
  • Everton sign Michael Keane for £30 million
  • How much have Everton spent already?!

A way of showing Lukaku they are serious about going for the Champions League qualification next season, or already spending the money they'll get from the sale of him?

£60m for Pickford and Keane. Bit ridiculous really.

Buying potential and paying a premium for English players.
