Rudd - 6.5 not bad, couple of little errors
Byrne - 6.5 pretty good. Got targeted a little bit with high balls
Bauer - 7 good. looked composed.
Pearce - 7.5 proper defender at this level
DaSilva - 8.5 Gillingham gave him space and he ran them ragged
Crofts - 7.5 put in the hard yards but his distribution was great today. Tackling and blocking also.
Konsa - 6.5 alright, will give him a free pass as injured recently
Forster-Caskey - 7 want a bit more from an attacking midfielder, but he was fairly creative and got involved
Botaka - 7 would like to see a bit more involvement, but I do get excited when he runs at people and picks a pass well
Magennis - 7.5 in a battle with their number 5 and came out on top, touch a lot better than previously
Holmes - 8 does need to release it earlier sometimes, but he's involved in everything

Ahearne-Grant n/a nice to see him come on, looks a little panicky
Jackson n/a <3 one more year?

Rudd 6 not much to do really. Got away with one from the free kick.
Byrne 7 best I've seen him play for us as a RB.
    Bauer 7 solid
Pearce 7.5 solid and good header
DaSilva 8.5 The club need to do all they can in order to get him back for next season. Played very very well. Great work for the free kick.
Crofts 6.5 done his job well
Konsa 6.5 done his job well but I don't think he's a CM.
Forster-Caskey 7 impressive. Best I've seen him play.
Botaka 7 good lay off for Josh. Easy but could've tried to take the shot on himself. Very unselfish.
Magennis 7 took his goal well. Difficult for him up top on his own as he's not quick but held the ball up well.
Holmes 8.5 good corner for the first, great free kick for the second and worked so so hard for our third. Ran and ran and ran. If he plays in a Charlton shirt next season I will be very surprised.
    Ahearne-Grant n/a glad he got a cameo
    Jackson n/a as above

Rudd 7 clean sheet - one dodgy moment.
Byrne 7 - not everything came off but good going forward
    Bauer 7
    Pearce 7
DaSilva 8 he scared them today
Crofts 6.5 must have been fairly solid, didn't see any howlers
    Konsa 6
Forster-Caskey 6 got stuck in, but he doesn't fill me with confidence
Botaka 6.5 some nice skill and some laziness.
Magennis 7.5 grew after the goal. Pleased for him as confidence has clearly been an issue
Holmes 8.5 not everything works but he does so much that his hit rate means he does more than everyone else. If his crossing was better and he didn't give away so many fouls ... he'd be playing at a better level.

Most points average or low because of how poor Gillingham were. Better sides in this division would have punished the many defensive mistakes we made and we would have lost the game.

Rudd 6.5 Lost half a point for the spill
Byrne 7.5 I was impressed with his work rate and skill.
    Bauer 7 Good defensive work
Pearce 7.5 Solid, plus a goal.
DaSilva 8 My MOM. Would be great to keep him
Crofts 6 Looked like a third centre half at times in the first half
Konsa 5 Looked out of position, which he was.
    Forster-Caskey 6.5 Worked hard
Botaka 6.5 Extra half for the dink for Magennis's goal
Magennis 7 An awkward player for defenders to deal with
Holmes 8 The run for the third goal, sadly not shown on TV, was quite special.

Yes almost an injustice that Botaka got the assist!

Nothing against Botaka by the way but anyone at the game will know what I mean.

Sorry to clog the thread @lancashire lad but it's an important point in the context of the match.

Rudd - 7 took control at the back taking a fair few in the air. quick distribution.
Byrne - 6 good going forward. defensively a little suspect as he's not really a full back. plenty of gills crosses coming in from his side in the second half.
Bauer - 5.5 seems to have got slower this season.
Pearce - 6.5 always tries to take control of situations but occasionally gets caught out of position.
    DaSilva - 7
Crofts - 6 defensively played well. helped bauer and pearce on several occasions at the back.
Konsa - 4.5 again he's played in the wrong position by Robinson.
Forster-Caskey - 5 better than he was but still very average.
Botaka - 5.5 surprised by his inclusion. contribution limited.
Magennis - 7 best performance since returning from injury.
Holmes - 7 always a threat and gives 100%. only downside is holding the ball for too long at times.
Ahearne-Grant - would rather see Hanlan as I feel that I've seen enough of KAG to say he's unfortunately not progressed enough over the last several seasons.

Robinson - we won despite his formation. helped by gills lack of composure in front of goal. they could of easily have scored 3 themselves. Konsa is not a midfield player, should of played right back. why not pick midfielders like JJ, Ulvestad and Aribo for that position.

Rudd - 5.5 Doesn't fill me with confidence, proved right with the spill. Does try to distribute quickly, often let down by his team mates not looking.

Byrne - 7 Good game. Great threat going forward, defended well. (Including getting a yellow card for a perfectly timed tackle!)

Bauer - 6 Solid if unspectacular. One very good tackle in the second half.

Pearce - 8.5 MOTM Extra .5 for the goal. A real warrior, who threw his body on the line time and time again.

DaSilva 8 Great game from the small man. Terrified them with his pace and skill. Cleverly moved out of the penalty area (probably by the manager) for defensive set plays where his lack of height could be a liability. One moment in the second half summed his performance up. Attacked the ball, misjudged the bounce, which meant the ball flew over his head, turned round, chased back, and STILL got to the ball before the Gills player.

Crofts 7 I don't really understand some of the bad comments made about Crofts. We have got 7 points out of 9 since his return to the team. Consider the up turn in our performances since the MK Dons game. Does the hard miles, with no ego. Lost count of the number of tackles and blocks he made.

Konsa 5 Not his best game. Played farther up the pitch, and put some good pressure on the ball. However, then gets a nose bleed being so close to the opposition penalty area. That sort of role is better suited to Aribo.

Forster-Caskey 5.5 A better game, but does nothing spectacular. I find if hard to remember one thing (good or bad) that he did. Did cover a lot of ground.

Botaka 7 I thought he had a decent game. Covered a lot of ground, and never hides. OK, defensively not great, but does at least make the effort to get back. A much bigger unit than Holmes, so more intimidating. Had a purple patch for the first 15 minutes of the second half, where he terrorised the Gills defence. A word about his assist. So good to see a player in the opposition penalty area, actually get his head up, and look to see that his team mate is in a better position. Certainly something that Holmes can learn from!

Magennis  7.5 Almost back to his best. Battled the whole game, chasing lost causes all over the pitch. Great to see him back on the score sheet. (Extra .5 for the goal)

Holmes 7.5 See my comments on Botaka above. (Hey, if he didn't occasionally make a wrong decision, he wouldn't be playing for Charlton!) Great free kick, (again) and prodigious work rate. Like Botaka, never hides, always wants the ball. Shoe in for POTY. Extra .5 for the (excellent) goal. Keep him, and already the next Jacko in the making...

Rudd 7.5 - calm and in control
Byrne 6.5 - solid performance, has great pace but is sometimes so slow, I don't get it?
Bauer 8 - some fantastic tackles
    Pearce 7 - decent
    DaSilva 9 - excellent
Crofts 8 - solid with some great tackles
Konsa 6 - weak at times
Forster-Caskey 7.5 - much improved today, decent pressing and tackles
    Botaka 6 - alright
Magennis 6 - not understanding eveyone else's praise. Very slow to attack after defending corners, Caskey and Holmes attacked much quicker with Magennis often left back with the defensive line, goal handed to him on a plate
Holmes 9 - Fantastic control and pace, gifted Magennis that goal, although sometimes he loses the ball in silly situations

Botaka got the assist for the third didnt he?
Holmes did all the work though, a tapped cross and tap-in goal aren't more impressive than Holme's build up surely
Believe it or not wingers are meant to gift goals to centre forwards - you do have to question Holmes decision making sometimes when it comes to releasing and crossing the ball. If he could sort that out he would be playing at a much higher level.
